Pros:
The Warm beach Camp and Conference Center is another of these large Christian camps which seemingly offers everything for their campers: disc golf, swimming, ropes course, tennis, horseshoes, mini-golf, hand grenades, challenge course, campgrounds, soccer, softball and more.
The camp is currently not operating due to the Covid virus but the grounds are wide open. People were camping there as I played the course. The little recreational course starts by the swimming pool, plays through the woods and then across the soccer field and around the tennis courts.
Warm beach features the largest baskets I've ever witnessed. They're homemade and are probably 1 1/2 times the size of normal baskets. Paul McBeth could hit these single chains baskets blind. The problem is even Paul couldn't make a putt stick. The pads are natural marked with small orange cones which do indeed have the hole # on them. Distances are from 100' to maybe 200'. Each basket has a laminated course map attached.
Navigation is fairly easy. Challenge is fairly easy. Playing the course is fairly easy. There is a nice combination of open versus heavily wooded holes.
Cons:
Giant homemade baskets are pretty strange and they don't catch particularly well.
Total distances.
Natural pads.
Other Thoughts:
Really, this course is perfectly acceptable for the campers here. If you're looking for a much greater challenge, Kayak Point DGC is just about four miles south of here.
When open, they ask that you check in with local camp authorities before wandering about although I doubt there is little chance of anything getting lost here. It's not exactly Yellowstone Park!
