Solid Recreational Course Is Getting Needed Improvements! 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 31, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

The Warner Street DGC is the only game in town, or county, or actually the only course within a 100 miles (The two courses in Klamath Falls being the closest). The 9 hole course sits on a flat area, with mostly thick, lush green grass and a few scattered trees. These trees are used very effectively.

The tees are grass or natural except for # 2, it's a great brick pad. I assume the other hole's tee pads will be getting bricked in at some point in the future. The tee signs are the standard, old school fiberglass models. The baskets are the regular DGA models.

Hole distances range from 231' to 390'. There isn't much in the way of obstacles although 3-4 holes are set in the midst of trees. The longest hole, # 6, has a fence along the right side running all the way to the basket.

There are a couple of fun little throws here. My personal favorite was # 8 which is just 190' but whose trees force you to throw a short little Annie. It's a fun little ACE run. # 7's basket is set directly in a line between two trees in a row.

Cons:

Only one teepad is currently bricked.
# 2 tee sign is washed out and unreadable.
# 9 tee sign sits right at the front right corner of the tee box. I was told be some locals all the others were relocated and # 9 was next on the list.
No elevation.

Other Thoughts:

This is one of those typical little recreational courses found in city parks everywhere. It's fun, easy, not particularly challenging but here, since it's the only course in a 100 mile radius, it's golden!

It's a quick easy stopover on hiway 395 driving up from Reno on your way to Klamath Falls and other points northward. Get out, stretch your aching legs and get in a quick (30 minute) round. And then back in your vehicle.
