Pros:
+plenty of parking
+elevation
+variety of distances
+not busy
+views of butte & surrounding mountains
Cons:
-navigation - next tee not intuitive (no next tee indicators)
-not many trees/obsticals, mostly wide open
-some missing tee signs & missing basket(4)
-shared space with hikers & mt. bikers
-start/end a ways from the parking lot
-no restroom
Other Thoughts:
out in the back 40 of mt. tech there are ~17 baskets to be found among the rolling hills (gulches); these thin, 14 chain baskets aren't the best baskets, but they'll do (much better than the painted post of #4/yesteryear). the log framed dirt tees are not a favorite of many, but at least they are marked & not too rutted. a few trees here & there; the course missed an opportunity to have some real woodsy holes at the top of the hill (12-16).
up & down the hills at this elevation can be tiring & hole 9 only kinda finishes near the parking lot, but not really; so prepare for strenuous hiking a full 18. in the mountains weather can change quickly; at the start you might think your gunna have a nice calm, sunny round only to end with gale force wind & moisture smacking you in the face.
the course shares the land with mt. bike trails & i saw a few bikes and people walking on those trails, so it's possible you might have to wait to throw on a nice day.
i found #5 to be the funnest: 812ft downhill with a tree guardian at the basket; fun full rip downhill. the course as a whole is not all that interesting; open throws uphill & downhill at different distances.
