Today I stopped in a Hastings to pick up some reading material and they were in the process of setting up a huge Discraft display. Several boxes of discs and a couple of display racks. The girl I spoke to said all the Hastings were selling them but only Discraft.

That still must have come as a surprise, even though it's only Discraft. Kind of funny though, because the only place I can buy discs locally (Sporting Goods stores) typically carry only two brands, those being Innova and Discraft.

Looks like I don't have to convince them after all. Just got a message from a friend that they have the discs here too now. Now I just need to talk with them and get local course info, dgcoursereview business cards, and whatnot posted up there. Maybe I can teach some of their staff about the sport

sounds good. maybe try to get them to sponsor a hole for local tourneys and such as well.

There are no discs at the Hastings in Moscow, ID. Maybe they are starting in the south and working their way up north? I hope so because that would make Hastings the only carrier of Discraft discs in town

full line of Discraft at Hasting's

my store has started selling just about every Discraft disc you can think of. I've also read that several other locations have started selling discs. This is one of the first large non-sports retailers that I have seen selling discs; the sport is definitely growing.

I just want to say that any store selling discs should sponsor dg, if not, the you shouldn't buy from them.

Hasting's is a book, movie/rental, video game/rental, music store. They've dabbled in just about everything except for sports stuff until now.

Their HQ is in Amarillo, TX so I'd assume that they are spreading out from there.

All the Walmarts around here sell Innova and millennium discs. We get nice sponsorships for the Des Moines Disc Golf Club too. They also sponsored our final nine showcase skins match for our First Class Challenge.$500 made for an interesting skins battle.

are you of the belief that Walmart should sponsor teams and events for every sport they sell equipment for?

I think it's absurd to refuse to buy from a vendor who doesn't feel like giving it's money away.

I will be checking the Hasting's here in town to see if they are going to start. I still know a few people that work there, so if they are selling them, maybe they can hook me up with a discount :)
