Hey ya'll, I recently went out and purchased a couple of judges in an effort to continue experimenting with different putters. I can't say that they are bad, seeing as how much putting is very inconsistent. However, compared to other putters I've used (challengers, voodoos), they roll so much! I have tried spin putting and push putting with them, and if I ever miss short and hit the basket, these things roll for days. I've three and four putted multiple times because of this. I don't want to write the Judges off, but does anyone else seem to have this issue?

Or know why I may be having this issue? As I said, it's really just with these Judges

my home course is very hilly and i throw judges. I dont think ive noticed that they roll more than the discs you listed. Id try throwing different plastics and see if there is a difference for ya. Id guess the soft would roll less than hard or fuzion.

just an off day. I have thrown several putters and judges roll no more than any other putter. If you are missing short and hitting the basket id imagine the disc is slowing way down at that point. putt harder!!! get it up. keep it flat. crash chains. cage hits and roll aways happen with all putters.

I haven't really known any putter to roll more than another, the only thing I can think of is maybe certain plastics have a greater tendency to roll than others. If you find that certain plastic types rolls more/less than others I'd like to hear about it, keep us posted.

You won't make many putts but you won't have your putter roll on you either :D

Well there's a tempting offer if I've ever seen one! :p

Thanks for the input, guys. May have been an off day (or a normal day, since putting is  right now haha). I really just need to pick a putter and stick with it. I've been bouncing around trying to find the right one, and I think it's just messing me up.

Yes! It took me a lot of bouncing around to finally settle on the Pure, but I am having better and better putting days with it, and I have figured out the amount of hyzer I can put on it without it catching and rolling as often. Stick with something, it will reward you more than chasing the next big thing.

If anything I'm getting less roll aways now that I use the Judge instead of a Wizard. Whatever you do spend enough time with them or any others before you switch again. I switched a few times between the wizard and judge and it was only when I stuck with the judge for more than two weeks that I found my way with it. Now there is no way I'd go back to wizards. They still fly ok for me but in the hand they just feel huge.

The only problem I had with the Fuzion Judge is bouncing out of the basket. It's hapened on more than one occasion and it drives me nuts. You know when you have that putt that doesn't hit the chains but just drops right in the basket...well on three different times playing I've had the Fuzion Judge land in the basket only to compress and just spring right out. I've had three different friends witness this and have to endure their laughter when it clearly shoud've been in for the easy deuce.

Not really rolling, but my Judges do something my other putters do not. Hard to describe, but after the fist skip, it catches an edge and does a hard left turn/roll. Annoying as heck, and makes me aim farther right than I should.

That happened to me a lot when I had a new dyemax fuzion judge. After a few more months of use it started to grab and hold chains better but I noticed they were usually the older and worn in chains. I solved the problem by never using the fuzion to putt with anymore. I love it for upshots but the plastic is so tacky I sometimes would have it stick to the fingertips as I was releasing and that would pull it right some. I have no idea how others use them inside the chains I just can't. Classic judge for putts, fuzion for upshots.

If its round... It'll roll. Just switched from Cam Todd Challengers to The Classic Firm Judge. Wayy cheaper and they feel great. Great straight putter for my style. Thankyou Zach Newhouse!

I think it's the hard rigid plastic that causes weird rolls.

Doesn't absorb very well.

I'd agree. People complain about Ion's having spit outs and doing weird things around the basket but I've never had any issues with those either when I used them. Spend some more time with them. Locking down a putter has been one of the best things to happen to my game. Consistancy and confidence are key to putting.

Soft Judge or Pure tends to stay put better in my experience. I prefer throwing Soft for approaches in general because of this - and the courses I play can be cruel for rollaways..

fuzion is out of my bag. Certainly the most durable by far but you are sacrificing grip and how the disc feels. Fuzions get really slick feeling when you add anything to the mix (i.e. water, snow, even sand or dirt).

Classic Soft Judge has been staying put pretty well for me. Also feels amazing in your hand.

Soft Judge doesnt roll for too bad for me, but I always keep a soft Judge, firm Judge, and Blowfly in my bag.
Soft Judge for most of my putting, firm in more windy situations, and Blowfly gets used rarely on dangerous putts where I need to be sure it's going to stick, and usually for laying up. Did hit a nasty lucky putt with a Blowfly recently though.
