[Question] What's your go to fairway in a headwind?

Teebirds are great into headwinds if you throw clean and with a slight hyzer. Even 150 DX Teebirds can handle pretty strong headwinds if you are careful.

Resistor or Banshee scoff at headwinds, but a 166-ish S-FD will handle ridiculous headwinds at my distance (~300' with fairways), when thrown barely hyzer.

Some years ago I noticed that I could not keep a Star Teebird from turning in a headwind. Rather than finding a beefier disc, I worked to clean up my form. I still don't throw very far, but I'm much cleaner now. ;)

I have a nice over stable 172 volt that handles headwinds great. I have another max weight volt that isn't as stable and will turnover into a headwind... Go figure. Great mold really nice to find a nice OS one.

Which PD's are you throwing? My C PD laughs at all the wind I've ever thrown it into.

15ish MPH headwind I will usually be throwing my fresh 1.1 SOLF, they are money! S-FB's when in the 20mph and above range.

Unless the winds are 35mph+ I usually use whatever disc I was normally going to throw on that hole. Unless it was going to be some sort of specialty shot, turnover, roller, etc. Dave Feldberg mentions in one of his clinics that when throwing into strong winds that when you are throwing a disc with full power there is too much friction on the disc with the power and spin from the throw and that of the strong wind. Thats what causes the problems. I've been throwing a workhorse Truth/Teebird/Destroyer at about 60-70% power into 10mph winds and getting nice straight lines out of them. They go farther than my Firebirds and I have increased control because I'm powering down a bit.

Depends on the wind but I'm usually comfortable with my Star Wraith.

It's all about touch. If I can't get a teebird there controllably, then I will just take a medium stability Destroyer and throw it about 75% or so.

3rd run C-PD, S-PD, and European masters G-Line. The c-pd is the most overstable but doesn't seem to fade left in headwind. It's not as trustworthy as I would like. Should I try a JL PD or just add a predator back to the bag and not worry about the extra mold?
