[Discmania] OS fd?

The perfect solution: Champ Teebird. :)

I have a OS ( for me ) Star Teebird that was hand selected to have the extra "beef" by Kodachrome.

Definitely the most stable bird I have thrown/owned, it handles all my noodle arm power and always has a healthy fade! This thing will fight back out of my occasional, accidentally turned over drives too :D.

I think the weight is 167/168, cant remember at the moment .

I have a couple of Factory Second Star Teebirds, 168g each. Don't bag them very often, but I am working with them as I (attempt to) hone my forehand flick. They are more overstable than my TLs, but not super-beefy like the Firebird or FL. Good discs, though....

if you want to throw FDs throw an FD2 to cover overstable.

fd/fd2/fd3 are meant to compliment and coexist in the same bag set up.

It's not for everyone but if your looking for beef check out the plus mold Teebird's, in particular the glow champ, they are are flatter and beefier, like a mini PD.

Buy a current 5th run max weight C-FD.

If that's too understable for you then go back to a champion teebird, if the champion teebird is understable then try a Brinster teebird. If a regular champ teebird is too overstable then try a star teebird. If it has to be discmania then the FD2 and FD3 were already mentioned. 2nd run C-FD are hard to find and expensive (and are basically champ teebirds with a hint more glide).

Mind you, Simon Lizotte throws regular/current C-FDs and he has 800ft power. The FD is not meant to be mashed/killed on throws, you can kill/mash/torque a FD2/FD3/BRinster Teebird and get great results. The FD is a super glidey driver that likes to go straight and finish straight, or hold glidey long-ish drives on the line you put it (hyzer/anhyzer).

I bag a g line fd cline fd and a star teebird to cover my fairway drivers. I have an fd2 but I prefer teebirds for that slot

Just go grab a C-line FD and don't sweat the online hair splitting. At your current distance, a CFD will fade nicely for you.

Dunno... my C-Line FD was (and is) less stable than my Star TLs fresh out of the box. Throws straight with a hint of turnover, just a little dumpy fade back. The FD is *not* a Teebird.

IMHO an FD2 ought to be more stable, but I don't know what the grip of an FD2 is like...
