Personally Most Sought After Disc

So this is sort of a question for all the disc collectors out there. What discs have you come across in real life(not online) that you have seen a person playing with that you wanted so bad but the person with the disc was not looking to sell. A guy in our local club has a old black Innova Piranha. Than I have offered him $50 for and have probably asked him at least a dozen times. But he just loves that putter more than anything. Every time I see him putt with it I cringe. So what discs out there have you tried to make offers on but they just didn't want to sell?

sounds like taking a black pirahanna and sawing it in half could deduce some state of insanity for you..

no kidding aside. all the champ editions stuff I wasn't that interested in when it was fresh and new wish I had been smart enough then to stock up...

I tried many trade offers to try to pry a juicy seasoned pre-Barry champ Leopard off a buddy. Some magical qualities as it was once bag and inked from a local guru and good friend. I gave up. He still throws it. I get to toss it now and then. Spent a good chunk of cash seeking out a couple of similar leopards I am happy with and a small pile of not quites.

I had one of those on my modest collector wall in my house. Des Reading spotted it, and having just lost hers the previous season begged me for a swap on it. I knew it was hard to get when I grabbed it as a prize from my clubs random pile of discs, but not anything I particularly collect.

Swapped her one of her custom stamped Firebirds, and she also drew some personal art on a Team Reading Disc she randomly found in my sales boxes, couldnt believe she found one here.

Small world. The local guru who originally owned this leopard was a disc golf mentor to a young Jay and Des and still a dear friend of theirs. Mike "Kuzi" Susanan and late wife Becky my Zallek.
Anytime with the Readings is good time.

Star Gremlin-L AKA Beadless Gremlins. One guy has close to half of the production run and won't part with any.

I offered him $40 for two of them. It's a rare disc but he and I are apparently the only two people that care about them. He got all offended for low balling him and refused to respond to higher offers.

My hardest to find disc is a 1st run Star Wedge. Wish I had bought more than one when they were released...

Champ SLs. I love them and will pay a little extra to get them. But no single disc would ever make me drop like $40+. So I usually find someone willing to sell who tries to gorge me and then I lowball them... Which pisses both of us off and no SL for me.

light weight 11x KC pro teebirds

had a pink 154 one that was my go-to forever. so gummy, so awesome. lost it at the Jaranator and it never made it's way back to me

179 gold line mace purple with black swirls. that disc and i were unstoppable from 200-300'

I can't say no to a swirly star tee-rex. I don't even throw them anymore, but if I see it I buy it.

Back before Innova did the factory store a friend who sold locally would go check the bins and pick out cool x-outs, one of the first few discs I got was a tye dye 11x teebird, sweet dark blue and neon green yin yang design, used it for a couple of years and lost it on a wooded course after botching an overhand on a home/backyard wooded course. Had no idea that 11x was molded or flew different than newer ones, have never found a Teebird since that flew like it, most of Champs now aren't as stable, and the ones labeled as OS have no glide, and the T3's can't be found less than 170 g except in Gstar which doesn't do well for overhand.

Innova DX, Star CFR and Proline Gremlins are $ and hard to find now. A DX Gremlin was my third disc I ever bought right before they went oop. They are also some of the most underrated discs of all time. The Gargoyle and Commander appear to be similar to these old gems from what I have read. I also like to buy any old Innova Pro TL's I can find.

Honestly, there's not a single disc in the world I am interested in if I have to pay a boutique price for it.

ones I find and keep. yes, I always call if they're inked. and no, I don't see it as "stealing". I give away most of the high speed drivers anyway.....
