Watching the GK Pro coverage of this. Got to the round 2 coverage and Nate Perkins said something about Covid rules forcing them out of the championship par 67 10000 ft course and into a wacky "backyard" Swordstone church course! This is also a $30k added cash tourney so it's certainly a serious event!

A few fabulous parts from the coverage:

-Hole 4 green, absolutely hilarious
-Bradley Williams insistence on how to really pronounce "vineyard" (and Nate's subtle corrections throughout)
-Some hole on the back 9 (13?) with a triple mando that's literally at the end of the teepad. Players had to tee from the back of the pad or short arm a throw to prevent from hitting their hand on the mando trees
-Elephants, dragonflies, weird inconsistent OB, etc!

Pure comedy. Well worth a watch

too late to edit. Hole 3 has the hilarious green. So many questions

Oh wow.. I look forward to watching this coverage.. I played there a couple months ago, I can't imagine hosting a large event there, should be interesting to check out.

Did anyone see the projected payouts? I wonder why FPO is so much more than MPO and if these actually held up.

It was just because of the how they split the added cash. Some just dump the same amount of added cash into each division, others split it evenly based on the size of divisions. Both have their ups and downs

Tito's Vodka are one of the major sponsors of the event, and I thought I heard that one of their conditions was that their sponsorship contribution should go specifically towards FPO.

Perhaps even more impressive is that the top five FPO players will have a bigger payout than their male counterparts. That's thanks to a $10,000 sponsorship designated to the women's purse by Tito's Vodka.

It might be a wtf moment having a round at Swordstone, but what can you expect in the middle of a pandemic? Not everything is going to go smoothly. If they thought there was going to be an issue with the tournament, the could have easily planned ahead. That being said, other tournaments have moved to alternative locations at the last minute due to weather related events, so it's not totally unheard of. Just chalk it up to the 'more weird ****' category we've been keeping tabs on for a while

It was disappointing because I really loved watching coverage of the first course. However, I thought 2nd round coverage was entertaining.

The third round is back on the Met Center course.

Was the 2nd round always supposed to be on a 2nd course? IDK, but it seems possible that the COVID restrictions only affected that course? Just a thought.

Met center aka Wet center is in the same industrial complex as my workplace. Used to live 10 mins from it. Fun course. Hole 6 is my fav. Its a giant middle finger to all disc golfers lol.

LOL. Formerly hole 1, right? One of the worst holes in all of disc golf. The sidearm route is covered by random branch fingers over an OB creek. I used to jump-putt to the short pad, then throw a 200 ft. sidearm to the opening and then pitch up to tap in for a par. I remember scores as high as 11 on the opening hole of tournaments there.

Well, it's also a B tier.

So I dunno if anybody caught it or not, Bradley's commentary on his own tee shot on 18 R2...said he was going fairway off the tee and had been doing a bunch of kegels lately😂😂😂

He said it super casual and I'm sure 99% of disc golfers don't know the female anatomy. Perkins didn't respond so I dunno if he didn't catch it either or was gonna just leave it alone.

I've met the dude once...years ago when he was Gateway sponsored...they installed a new course in my area...showed up to help drop baskets and got to play with him, Nikko, Justin Bunnell...STL legend for a while...apparently in Nashville now sponsored by Prodigy, and of course Dave Mac.

Bradley was super friendly and you could tell he had a love for the game. Got the vibe he's a super intelligent dude, very dry sense of humor, and not much of a filter...I can understand how he acquired his nickname. My own take was if you actually got to know him you'd like him a lot, but if your only interaction was competing against him at a tournament you might have a different opinion. Also got the vibe he has very high expectations of himself, and sometimes that bleeds over into some trash talk, or probably more accurately comes across as trash talk if there's not a filter.

Side STL note, cool to see "The Kid" win Throw Down the Mountain. He was an outright stud in the early to mid 2000's in the Midwest, but was also an insanely good bowler and fisher. Dude was trying to become a legit pro at 3 different things at once hoping one would stick and launch a career. I think he was away from dg for a while, or at least on a pro competing level. Cool to see him hold his own still.

Yessir

It is really my favorite hole. I love punishment. Its such a great feeling to hit that forehand over the creek.

Last time i was there i chained out for birdie. The last 2 times i have played it were drop in pars. Been lucky.

Its one of those holes i cant wait to play because it will either give me a double bogey or a well earned victory i can tell everyone about.

If every hole were like that i would hate it but that's the only one like that, on a mainly wide open course.

Love it

And why not add a scoring error/discrepancy resulting in a 3 way tie for 2nd place. Groovy....
