I wonder if there was a thread for just pros to post in with replies/comments turned off, how that would go over.

This would essentially be a thread where pros don't have to deal with being trolled.

Just a thread for pros to post here without being trolled or bombarded with endless questions.

This is a disc golf forum, why not give the pros their own thread?

Not everyone uses FB, Twitter, or Instagram.

There are over 25,000 PDGA Pros in addition to the even larger numbers who play for cash in unsanctioned leagues and events. Where do you draw the line?

No, pretty much anyone with a sponsorship uses some kind of social media. Sponsorships are basically advertising partnerships anyway.

If we can't interact there's not really much reason to do it. And if we can interact why would pros want to deal with trolls on yet another platform?

I played MPO once...

There are definitely pros on DGCR, and some are better at interacting with DGCR than others. MJ has his own thread and seems to respond well without getting trolled too badly. I think that has a lot to do with him being a really cool and chill dude in general. Other pros make intermittent high profile posts (Paul McBeth comes to mind, though it's been a while), more frequent quiet but informative posts (Andrew Fish and probably a number of others), or maybe some more frequent posts that turn out poorly (Bradley Williams and probably some others I don't recall).

What are you thinking they need to post? Do you think they'd just want to give random technique/strategy or career advice? Or vent about the PDGA or tournaments or other pros? Or share details from their personal life? Or promote their sponsors' products? I suspect all pros that want to do any of those things have already found more suitable platforms to do so, probably with a larger audience. We on here realize how cool DGCR is, but we are probably not in the majority.

Wasn't talking about pros when I said not everyone uses FB, Twitter.

For all you know they could be here and just not using a verified account.

That's the one advantage of posting here compared to FB or other social media platforms.

I thought everyone here already was a Pro, except for RuPoor.

I know you're just being you, but:

Since the pdga doesn't really have properly defined divisions, there are plenty of ma1/40 level players that have cashed in open, therefore are automatically "professional" (myself included)

It's not that the pdga needs more divisions, but there is a huge gap that becomes much more apparent the bigger the sport grows

Holly Finley posts occasionally.

Tristan Tanner posted one time on here and got called a troll because he claimed to throw over 500 feet. - https://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129043

Technically, that 2017 post was by a young amateur, before Tristan played any MPO events in 2018.

The first few pages of that Tristan Tanner thread are pure gold, in retrospect. That post was also his first and last DGCR post, at least from that account. I think looking at those few pages is a great case study in why that disc golf pro, for one, has never returned to DGCR.
