Visiting a relative in Irvine for about a week, got a friend in San diego. I'll only have limited oppurtunity to play discgolf so I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on the coolest courses around as I'll only have a chance to play 1 or 2 courses. Anywhere within an hour or so. Highest rated...

course is much improved since I first played it. Very challenging but a good mix of drive looks.
got a 134 blizzard destroyer. Its not like a new destroyer, no where near as stable. However, it is very cool. It really flies. But you CAN flip it. It just hovers straight for long time then fades. On a side note I got a star teedevil and its really overstable. Not straight at all. But yes...
I have both and love both. I wanted to like my teebird more since it really is the best stable fairway driver I've thrown, being if you keep if fairly low it will fly straight with just a tiny fade. However, Ive just had more success and very little failure with my eagle. Eagle has more fade but...
well ****. That is like max distance for me with a wraith but ive only been playing a solid year. How far do you throw your drivers then? I just don't see why you would use a putter to line up for a 350 ft drive, but whatever works for you. my wizard isn't overstable enough for me to control it...
Yes I've noticed this hating the groove trend. I'm not exactly sure why. I have one and think it's a pretty good disc. But..as I've gotten more of the other drivers I wanted I find that I pretty much don't throw it anymore. Groove flies the straightest of all speed 13 discs so I would think some...
my first disc was a dx leopard and it flew straighter than anything. gave it away. Got a 162 champ and it was great too, flew straight, i threw it into a creek. I found a used 150 champ, hated it at first as it was crazy understable. Now its a life saver as i use it for midrange anny's to...
All good suggestions as far as disc selection. But at that kind of distance perfectly straight is tough. I once saw this guy forehand a wraith about 400 ft dead straight until it hit some foliage. Amazing. it's more about keeping your disc fairly low in order to get long straight. If I keep my...
Wow. Good stuff smyth. There's a few putters I've been meaning to try but the Pure wasn't one of them. Now I'm curious. Someone told me the omega 150g is a "magic" putter.
a boss? haha. right. um, so my question is...once you find a putter you like, do you absolutely commit yourself to it? ya know. like Smyith says, "once you find that putter, just practice, practice, practice. So is it like that. ya know? you have your fav drivers and mids, but still, they are...
so you can honestly throw a wizard more than 300ft? I absolutely cannot. in general, i don't like driving with putters. but i've seen people have some great midrange throws with the wizard. just not my thing. if its mid range im grabbin my buzzz no hesitation.
Its been my experience that people either like Rocs or Buzzes. and usually the older players who prefer Rocs and younger Buzzes. Personally, I looooove the buzz. truly one of the best discs ever made, i cannot begin to tell you how many great shots i make with it. ones that people are just...
another weird thing for me was the Katana. I heard you can just get crazy almost unfair distance with em. right (sarcastic). I can throw most of my other drivers farther. maybe i just don't have the arm strength or something, but i get better distance with my wraith, vulcan, and nuke. Katana is...
For instance, i picked up a used 150 champ leopard because i used to have a dx one that was great, was pissed at first bc it was just nasty understable. Then I started throwing approach anny's with it....to magical perfection. This disc will just glide so sweetly and gives me so much better...
yup. I feel you. But i wonder, will i ever switch from the wizard? BTW, was thinking of getting a short range very overstable disc. A zone perhaps? A useful disc ya think?
