    Playing with your dog ideas?

Ah, like one of those big ones at Home Depot? Now there's a good idea, I think that'll work! Will try it... And thank you for a civil reply!

    Playing with your dog ideas?

Does anybody read the post all the way through? I'm obviously asking how to keep him on leash so I can throw - "but I don't want to be that guy with the loose annoying dog on the course". Thanks anyway......

    Playing with your dog ideas?

I just moved to a new area and since I don't know any players, I want to take my dog (Buck). He loves going and he is pretty well trained....but as soon as I throw, he is off and running because he is a frisbee chasin' dog. That's fine on an empty wooded course, but I don't want to be that guy...

    Appropriate use of Drop Zones

I think we're talking about different things, sorry... I was only referring to island holes, not a long hole with a double mandy where it would be an advantage to just go to the DZ. It shouldn't be an automatic bogie to miss a tight island, you should have a chance to make a reasonable putt....

    Appropriate use of Drop Zones

We'll have to agree to.... y'know....There are holes where there is no option #2 you listed above. You either make the island for a bird or par, or have an assured bogie. The penalty should not be so severe for a shot that is off by 3 %....you already have the penalty stroke. Meaning that a...

    Appropriate use of Drop Zones

I favor Drop Zones, since I came from the days when you had to unwind from missed mandies, or argue about where the disc went out of play, etc... It's fair and consistent...my only beef is when the drop zone on an island hole is 75 ft away, making every missed drive basically a bogie. An average...

    Putting grip - Index finger

I would strongly suggest using a different grip for up shots vs putts, The power and spin needed are way different and need a different feel, power and touch. Your driving form and power are not related IMHO to your putting. Putting is the most important of the throws obviously and should be...

    Putting grip - Index finger

Maybe more importantly - where is your thumb? How much pressure and how does it interact with the other fingers on the bottom of the flight plate....? Does the position change for longer putts?

Anyone else throwing Terns? Big distance for slow arms?!!

I see a Tern as similar to a King. But I like the Kings way better.....I throw them in the 160s so don't know if that compares correctly... Have you tried a King, and how does it compare in your mind...?

    [Putters] Putt putter really matter?

Another 86 putter here. Started with the white ones with blue stamp, then the yellow/blue. Those tended to be brittle though and broke more often. When the Black Softies came out that was the deal. Now my go-to is a Black with Red/Gold or Red/Silver, but also use Red, White or Orange on...

I feel the heavy disc; thank you everyone.

Lol, even after throwing for 40+ years, I still have to remember that less is more. A few months ago, I was nursing a pulled right thigh muscle. Went out and made myself pull off the plant easily and not with so much force and power.....Guess what? The disc effortlessly went 50 ft farther! It is...

    Durable minimalist/barefoot/zero drop shoes

I use Merrall Moab mids now for the past 10 years at least. Back in the day (80s-90s) we used to wear a baseball show with rubber cleats...gave good traction on dusty or damp pads and fairways.

How often do you make 50 footers?

My saying is 'if you can see it, you can make it' . So I rarely lay up under 60 ft or so. But I am confident in both my long putts not going far if I miss, and my comeback putt. Doesn't always work out though (live by the sword, die by the sword....) but it sure is a fun way to play the game. I...
