The park you enter is beautiful, and the course starts and ends from the lakeside, so I imagine summer and fall rounds are especially lovely.

A nice quick stop
I was passing through on my way towards Indiana, PA and hit up a few of the 9 hole courses around Altoona.
The thing that stands out immediately from all the other courses is the elevation changes. Hole 3 and 5 are dramatic 20+ foot elevation drops on turning shots...and Holes...

A beautiful piece of land
An absolutely gorgeous series of views throughout the course, set amongst rolling hills. I played the course the first day it was open with concrete tee pads (they were literally removing the forms on some holes), playing from the Longs.

Lots of potential, but not well maintained
Covenant Village is situated in an absolutely gorgeous area, just a short ways off the highway. Getting in touch with them was relatively easy, and we had the place to ourselves on a Friday.
