The course is on a golf course. I thought that would be a downside. But the golf course is a little crummy and isn't well-maintained for golf, so it makes for an excellent disc golf course.

A good beginner course
Enough tree hazards and water hazards to keep things interesting, not so many to make it unenjoyable for beginners. The course is easy to walk. The holes are all close together. and there isn't a lot of pedestrian traffic that gets in the way.
Also, there's a playground...
