Review by forehandfranz in course Rockburn Branch - Old Layout

3.50 star(s) Solitude in Maryland Not far from Baltimore is a place you can go to feel some solitude and play some quality disc golf. Rockburn offers a variety of holes that are all completely unique - no two are alike, and many are memorable. It's challenging mix of grassy open (but hilly fairways and...

Review by forehandfranz in course Signal View DGC

3.00 star(s) Beautiful course The course is located just minutes off I-81 in a beautiful county park which seems much more remote than it is. The course is on rolling grassy terrain that often uses the woody edges of the park for a more technical challenge. Overall the park is well maintained and this...

Review by forehandfranz in course Greystone Woods

3.50 star(s) Nicely Done! This relatively new course is a rugged slice of thick forest, hills, rocks, numerous trees, and water hazards to boot. It reminds me of some of the classic east coast courses nearby like Tyler, Iron Hill, Cranbury Park, etc. You have a choice of three tees per hole which very...

Review by forehandfranz in course Rutgers, Douglass College

2.50 star(s) Home of the Cubby Aces Set on the Rutgers campus, this course is one of the oldest in the nation. Due to the old disc technology when it was built, it is short. It is laid out in the middle of campus amongst the trees and grass and buildings. It is an enjoyable, technical play with a variety...

Review by forehandfranz in course Brackett's Bluff

4.00 star(s) Go for the Night Golf! PBrackett's is a great disc golf experience with an outstanding course and clubhouse atmosphere. The course itself is primarily tight wooded fairways with elevation changes on most. The designer, Dave Brackett likes to have fun, and lives disc golf - this course is a...

Review by forehandfranz in course HJ Carroll Park

1.50 star(s) The first on the peninsula A pleasant park in a quiet setting. Mostly skirts the edge of a large field but having a third go into technical wooded sections. You get a nice little blast of tree fever on these first 3 and then you play the burm, hitting pins that are nestled on the sloping...

Review by forehandfranz in course Leverich Park

2.50 star(s) A Fun Jaunt Nice little course located in a park that has a combination of grassy fairways and tall firs that border its edges. The nice feature of the course is that it allows for long wide open drives while having it balanced by some very short, technical holes. It really is a strange mix of...

Review by forehandfranz in course Beacon Glades

3.00 star(s) Fun course! This course is nestled on the edge of the Hudson Highlands at the site of an old (church?) camp. It's primarily set in the woods and on sloped ground, though 3 of them are set in an open field bordered by woods. One of these (hole 1) was very picturesque, with a giant flag pole...

Review by forehandfranz in course Seatac DGC

4.00 star(s) The new and improved Seatac This is one of the longest and most challenging courses in the state of Washington. It recently went to 27 holes and it really is quite a treat! The course par could realistically be set at a higher, as many of the holes play like par 4's. It's good to keep in mind...

Review by forehandfranz in course Hartsuff Park DGC

1.50 star(s) Go on a rainy day Set in a tiny (multi-user) park, this course has a bit of variety for being an 8 holer. You will have some tight lines on 3 holes, and more open shots on the remainder. You will also experience water on 3 holes (but only two of them pose much danger of losing your disc...

Review by forehandfranz in course Morley Field

3.00 star(s) Hot as fuego, in San Diego Morley has cemented its status as a legendary course in the San Diego area. I was able to join a few guys on this crowded course about midway through my round, and 2 of the 3 had never played anything BUT Morley Field in their disc golf careers. I will get to that...

    USDGC coverage

I'm with you. If this event strives to provide the best media coverage to get people engaged, the LEAST they could do is deliver edited footage of the event within a reasonable time frame. It's been a day and a half since the 3rd (and now final) round was played, and they can't get out the...

    US Womens Championships

I was surprised to see Madison throwing a backhand so frequently, and particularly on holes that seemed to be sidearm friendly. As a matter of fact, it seemed all the gals (except for "stubborn" Sarah) were throwing more sidearms than usual!

Will the Valkyrie Kid hit 1,000 played?

Way to go Kid! Thanks for doing all that "dirty" work for all of us who would rather be more picky in their selection of course playing.

Inside MVP Disc Sports HQ - The Beginning of a New Disc Golf Revolution[video]

I initially bought their discs because I thought the rim provided a nice border for tournament custom printed discs. Then I started putting with the Ions and never went back to my Aviars yet! Great little doc, and thanks for sharing!
