    North Carolina Courses

I played Farris the other day. It's an enjoyable little course. I think locals and beginners will dig it. There's some fun wooded holes and a couple of open ones. Farris does give you some opportunities to bomb but there's a stretch where it gets a little repetitive. Holes 5-8 (IIRC) do...

New hope church course @ American tobacco trail head, Cary, NC

Played there for the first time yesterday. Beautiful, challenging, and fun. Very impressed. Hole 9 from the Blues might be one of the best in all of NC.

    Mayflower Hills- Roanoke, VA

Glad to hear it. I'm looking forward to playing both Mayflower and Greenfield next week.

Now that's what you call a death putt....

No thanks. I'll take my seven and move on.....

    Sugaree Phase 3

Yeah, that hurt. Although not nearly as much as missing a three-foot putt and watching it roll 100 feet down the mountain........

    I'll vouch for Jackson also.

What is the most beautiful/scenic course you have played?

Bear Tree Cabin aka Blackjack. Hole 14 is heavenly.

    I-81 courses: Greenfield, Warriors, other?

Yeah, that was definitely not my best disc golf moment.:wall: Isn't Sugar Hollow off I-81? That's a nice course.

Finally played disc golf outside my home state

You might want to add Fort Hamby to the itinerary next time you're up that way. Beautiful park (and the DG's not bad either).

    Spartanburg, SC

What a nice day of golf. Brother Dave and I ended up getting four courses in. Shoally Creek was awesome, Pipeline was a butt-kicker, Tyger River was fun (though I don't think I've ever seen a more contrasting front/back nine in all my life), and USC-Upstate was rather quirky. Will definitely...

I'm thinking about heading up that way Saturday. I see that four courses in and around there have some pretty good ratings. Which courses are must, must plays?

    ? about Robbins Park (NC)

I played this little gem for the first time yesterday and absolutely loved it. This place, combined with Bradford/Bracketts, makes a strong one/two punch. 1978, you're more than welcome to come design courses in the Triad. That being said....I've got to ask. What in the blue hell is...

    Fort Hamby, Wilkesboro, NC

Finally made it up to Ft. Hamby today. The course isn't quite open for business. I did drive around it and walked a couple of the fairways. Course pretty much done except for tee signs. I've got a good feeling about it. Wooded with some nice elevation change. I did run into a cool dude...
