    Dogwood Trails DGC discussion

This year is the Fifth Annual Dogwood Trails Classic on March 23rd. It's a one day, two round event with a break for lunch. Camping available, free for players. Working on players packs and trophies as well. Event can be found at Dogwood Trails on Facebook.

Critters on the course you ran into...

I don't usually have my phone with me on the course so I don't get too many pictures. I have deer all over my course and have seen a coral snake between six and seven. I've seen a moose at Copper Mt and elk at Grindstone in Ruidoso, also Humpback whales at Mackenzie on the Big Island. On the...

How many US states have you played? What’s your next state to cross off?

I really want to add Wyoming and Arizona to my list, maybe catch a few more New Mexico and Colorado courses on the way through.

    Most Iconic or Amazing Holes

I wish I had a picture but I'll try to describe it. If you've ever played Mackenzie on the Big Island, you'll know. Hole 17 tees on a lava outcropping and throws out over the Pacific ocean and finishes on another outcropping affectionately called the Buddha. The tee and landing zones are...

In Memory: The Best Extinct Courses

It seems that it doesn't really matter private or public course, time has a way of changing this game, leaving only memories. With that said, some of my fondest memories of courses of yesteryear in no particular order. Circle R in Wimberley TX, both the Meadow and the Hill, and I guess you could...

    DFW disc golf

Dino Hills and The Hideaway are both worth making a day trip out of. That being said, there are plenty of courses worth playing in DFW. My favorites are ZBoaz, Lester Lorch, Heritage, and Veterans.

    DFW disc golf

Can't remember what I actually paid to play Naniloa in Hilo with a cart but it was close to Selah Ranch with a cart.

[Innova] Fill three 7 speed slots with Innova only, what do you choose to be well-rounded?

I currently carry both the Hawkeye and Leopard3. I've carried both the Teebird or TL in the past and should probably put one or both back in.

The most played course in America

I haven't played Morley but have Johnny Roberts and it was pretty busy with both peds and golfers. Beautiful course but not in my top five played.

How many US states have you played? What’s your next state to cross off?

I've only bagged fifteen states but well over three hundred courses. AL, AR, CA. CO, FL, GA, HI, IN, KS, LA, MO, NM, OK, TN, and TX.

    Your first disc golf course...

I remember hanging out with my older brother watching the Winston Cup race from Darlington and this guy Terry that he worked with called and asked if we wanted to go play Frisbee Gold after the race . I thought it was kind of goofy at the time but we went. That would have been September 4th...

    Your first disc golf course...

That was a fun little course, I got my first and second ace there. It was the third course I played behind Fritz and Greenbelt.

Review by Nascar Dave in course Dogwood Trails DGC

4.00 star(s) Heavily wooded. Private course in the piney woods of east Texas. Beautiful mature trees with over a hundred Dogwood trees. Elevation changes come into play on about half the holes. No water but O.B. fence lines add to difficulty. Well maintained with tees signs and course maps available upon...

Review by Nascar Dave in course Ox Bow County Park

4.00 star(s) Beautiful Beautiful wooded course with plenty of wildlife. The fairways were manicured and mowed often, clearly defined and forgiving if you have a errant throw. Always see deer in the woods. I like the use of the land and some of the manmade structure. Nice little walkways in lower wet areas...

Review by Nascar Dave in course Longview DGC

4.50 star(s) A hidden gem. I played during the week so there was hardly anyone on the course. Easy to follow, great use of topography, slightly hilly, wooded and some small water features. Even though it was wooded, the fairways were clearly defined and navigation wasn't an issue. Some of the steeper ups and...
