I'm new to the disc dye game, but I'm quite satisfied with how this turned out.
I exposed this red PFN Pro-Starfire for ~30min in black ProSperse dye solution, heated to just below simmer. My dye mask was cut from Orcal 631; I will try Orcal 651 in the future for the better adhesive since my...
I've only managed to card a 2 on this hole once or twice, with a star katana roller in good wind conditions. The basket has been elevated for at least a year, and just recently got a rocket costume; the Saturn-V replica outside the Marshall Space Flight Center is just across the road and in...
There is a tremendous amount of variation in the Evolution plastic blend. Evo wizards can have all kinds of shapes, feels, and flights. Generally though, they are extremely durable and fly slightly more overstable than a fresh Soft Wizzy.
I currently have 3 different evo wizards.
My newest...
I love the way this thing flies. It has tons of HSS but never kicks out, so I can crank it into a headwind and watch it hold straight to the ground. It's a perfect pair for my overstable RFF scale that always wants to fall left. The crimp in the wing is easy to see, but it doesn't bother me...
Yes, my two white 167 icon outlaws feel softer compared to my 174-175 gram outlaws (white skullboy, yellow, pink, & purple), and the top of the flight plate has a slightly sticky texture as well. I would not be surprised if the wing does deform a bit more on tree strikes and spike hyzers with...
Some things to try:
-Get your elbow farther forward to get more leverage and spin on the disc
-Line up sideways instead of front on, dip your right shoulder forward over your arm to get more leverage.
-Smooth out your follow through. It looks jagged and jerky and unbalanced. You should be...
Jared Neal in Huntsville throws 600'+ on flat ground, and having seen many of the other top throwers in the game, I would not hesitate to put him in the top ten. He also won the USDGC Performance flight in 2012 and was in the distance showcase that year.
I have seen two styles of distance rollers. First is a flat, stable disc thrown on an anhyzer angle which holds to the ground, then very slowly turns over. My disc for this is a flat star katana that will roll a country mile. I also like a flat VIP world for this.
Second style is a supper...
A forward penetrating fade is when a disc holds altitude as it pulls towards hyzer. As an example, a firebird is going to fall to the ground hard when it fades, while a teebird will descend more slowly and cover more forward distance during the fade phase of its flight.
One of my card mates at a local tournament was sporting an Ergo 3 prototype. It has a built in stool which is padded, and is much more stable and sturdy than my Ergo 2. I don't think you could go wrong with either an Ergo 3 or a Spinal Tap.
