Review by samartin in course Thorpe Park

2.50 star(s) Thorpe Park DGC Heavily treed with a good mix of par 3's and par 4's. Tee boxes are concrete and baskets are in good shape. Hole locations get changed around. I would rate this course better except, like virtually everyone else, for the broken glass and trash. In my humble opinion, this is the...

Review by samartin in course Northern Arizona University DGC

3.50 star(s) NAU DGC This is a sneaky-difficult course that is challenging for both fore and backhanders. Good mix of par 3's and 4's. Heavily treed. Baskets and concrete tee boxes always in great condition. At one point, about midway - forget which hole) you have to cross a soccer field which can be...

Review by samartin in course McPherson Park

3.50 star(s) McPherson My favorite basket course in Flagstaff. Nice mix of long and short holes with many trees and elevation changes. Baskets are all in good shape, maps available. Very popular, but I have rarely had to wait. A few holes are very rocky around the basket which can tear up your disc.

Review by samartin in course Arizona Snowbowl

4.00 star(s) Snowbowl DGC Very challenging - played up/down steep ski slopes, some very long holes, amazing views. Must keep it in the fairway otherwise easy to lose a disc. Best to play in late spring/early summer before the grass greens up and makes finding your disc even harder. Use a spotter!

Review by samartin in course Vista Hills Park

2.50 star(s) Vista Hills DGC Very quick course to play - finished 18 in about 45 minutes. Great for the end of the workday before sunset. Grassy with some elevation changes. Few trees, close to road and houses. I liked it better than I thought I would based on the previous reviews. Using and old driver, I...

Review by samartin in course Black Butte Lake DGC

4.00 star(s) Surrounds the Black Butte Reservoir, lined with small oaks (30-40' tall) and very scenic. Most holes feature a bench to take a breather, but not always shaded. Dog friendly. The early spring time is a great time to time to play because the grass is green and short and the trees don't have their...

Review by samartin in course Willows Rotary DGC

2.50 star(s) In a community park, but not heavily populated in the evenings. Pretty well signed, but must play an abbreviated short course twice around. Play Holes 1, 2, 3, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19. Pretty well signed, but must play an abbreviated short course twice around. Avoid the school side across the...
