Quick takeaways on the new Shift.
First off, I never owned any of the early versions; so this is my one-way perspective, if you like. Also, I just had my second child and have been at the hospital while the bag was patiently waiting for me at home; so I haven't had a chance to play a round with...
Appreciate the quick reply fellas. Brought my discs, but need to get a few for the family while we are on vacation. :) Hope this course is all it's cracked up to be cuz I'm pretty juiced to play it.
Tried google searching it and pretty much came up empty handed. I will be in the area until Saturday the 16th if anybody would like to hookup for a casual round.
I was wondering if anybody knows of any disc golf retailers in the area? Anywhere around Traverse City, as I am willing to travel a bit to get some equipment.
I was thinking along the lines of a combination of nets and foam-encased obstacles. Nets especially would be inexpensive I should think and could easily be suspended and moved around from the ceiling.
First; a device, like a pitching machine, that can be used to accurately measure the flight qualities of a disc repeatedly. This would aid manufacturers in quality control, and give the consumer more information before they purchase a disc. I know that this is not a new idea but it should be a...
Can you describe a little more about "closing" your wrist. Is that the point at which you really tighten up your grip on the disc? Or is it a deliberate act of bending the wrist back toward your forearm? A friend of mine does this on every drive, but I thought I read somewhere that was...
About 8 years ago my parents house got broken into. The thief just grabbed whatever was close to the door, which unfortunately for me, was my discs and bag ($80). The real bitch of it was that I had just bought everything just a couple months before, so I never really got much use out of any...
He mentions that the wrist will be slightly off-center/cocked, just like the front plant foot. I believe that the distance traveled between being slightly cocked to the finishing "handshake motion" delivers the *small* amount of spin that is needed to keep the disc in flight and stable(not...
Looks like I will be putting an order in for another teebird, gator, and I'm still torn on the destroyer/boss(maybe both). I actually have an eagle I found on the course that is very beat, and by beat I mean it looks like it got in a fight with a lawn mower...chucked it a few times and it just...
Is there a regulation tee size approved by the PDGA, or some sort of guidelines? Also, it seems that I recently read that there is no standard dimensions used when designing baskets, it only needs to be approved by the PDGA....it seems kind of stupid to have this lack of standardization for...
The 150 discs are definately wind food, but my technique is still faulty enough where I don't want to sacrifice the distance gain I get from them. I also have a slight build- 6'1" 140lbs. The technique problem is probably best addressed in a entirely different thread and worked out this summer...
