Review by welshjohn74 in course Hunter Park

3.00 star(s) A nice little course Nicely laid out course that makes the most of the space available. Hole 6 and 7 play through the trees, while the rest are fairly open shots. Hole 9 is a fun down hill throw. The course is adjacent to some amazing forested lands that could make for an amazing course...

Review by welshjohn74 in course Osceola Tug Hill - North

4.50 star(s) Absolutely worth it Beautiful course. Easy to follow. Very challenging. None really. This course is a must play. This is by far the best course that I have played in central New York. If you have played Oxbow falls, this is the next step up.

Tone Poles/Bucket Poles/Etc. Searched and didn't find much.

Try looking for scrap metal that can be repurposed in to tone poles. Ideally, the pole should be the same height as a basket would be. I am a fan of tone poles, because it requires extra skill to hit it. The metal gong sound can be beautiful. The thinner the outer sleeve, the better the sound...

Review by welshjohn74 in course Fairmont Park

2.50 star(s) Right in the middle of SLC *A nice alternative to the nearby courses. *Never crowded when I play. I can roll right through in the mornings with a lovely cup of coffee. *Sometimes of the day make the course unplayable due to the traffic it receives (esp. soccer games) so hitting someone is a...

Review by welshjohn74 in course Mad River Pump Station #4

3.00 star(s) A Good Nine Holes Nice baskets. Course is very easy to follow. The Mad river is right there if you're in the mood for a swim. I've caught a couple of steelhead there prior to playing a round - sweet. Every basket has two positions so there is some degree of challenge to the course. Big groups...

Review by welshjohn74 in course Art Dye Disc Golf Park

1.00 star(s) Gof in a Garbage Dump The course has the potential to be a very unique place to play, with varied terrain and lots of tree cover that makes for challenging shots. There is garbage everywhere one looks in addition to all the down and dead tree branches. The tee pads are non-existent (no flagging...

Review by welshjohn74 in course Ferns Park

2.50 star(s) Easy 2 Play Very easy to play, there is no guesswork as to the layout of the course. Great for developing your long-range shots and rollers. Nicely manicured park. Not the most challenging course, the majority of holes are straight shots, but it's far better than Oxford Circle Park in nearby...

Review by welshjohn74 in course Oxford Circle Park

1.00 star(s) Ehhhh Easy to play. Good for people new to the game. Course is not challenging at all. I met a Davis local while playing the course. He told me they put in the park and baskets around 1973 and they haven't moved the baskets since then! The baskets are in need of repair and the layout is...

Review by welshjohn74 in course Humboldt State University

4.00 star(s) One of my favorites Outstanding scenery. Challenging shots. Friendly locals. Seeing garbage left in the forest. Easy to lose your disc if you're not careful. The real name of this course as Par Infinity, after the club that installed and maintains the course. Getting lost on the course is not...
