I am going to be off work from the 28th to the second. I am hanging out with the wife on Monday, and then Tuesday, we are going to Beaumont, so I can play Kline Park, and hang out in the area. Wednesday I was thinking of heading to either Windwood, or I would like to check out Nottingham, Bridgeport and Memorial Church, since they are all in the same area, and I have played none of them yet. I could move those plans to Thursday if you want to meet me there. Also, on Thrusday or Friday, I have to go to a place about 2 miles from Mac Gregor Park to drop off some equipement to be repaired, and I thought I would hit MacGregor since I was in the area. Let me know when you can play

Well, first round I played about 30 points below my rating. It was at Liberty Park in Franklin TN. The whole course is a hillside, so it had snow and ice everwhere until you made it out to the temp holes in the fields where everything was a little muddy from all the melted snow. It was really tough to tee off that first round when you couldn't get a good plant foot. But hey, what are you gonna do? Everyone has to play the same course, right? Did you get out and play any this weekend?
We have ice bowls the next 2 Saturdays here. I'll probably wait till after those to start throwing that new disc more. I've never been the type to change things up right before an event. The hardest slot in the bag to fill is the "Go Straight" slot. We can always find something overstable or that at our power we can flip over. Finding that one disc that takes what you put on it without flipping over, and that doesn't have a big flare out at the end of the flight is the real trick. That is what I was using the Buzzz's for.
It is definately all me. I threw a FLX Buzzz today and it flew like it should. I still haven't bought a new disc, but a friend did just up and give me a brand new glow gateway E series Element. That thing is freaking sweet. It flies like a Buzzz, but the plastic is so grippy, it feels like it's made of rubber.
Funny, the other day I was trying to work out the OAT in my throw, and I was using the caps from coke 16 & 20 oz bottles, which are shallower than the 2 L bottlecaps, and I couldn't get a Hz-flp to save my life. Maybe the 2 L will work better...
River Grove Park (Kingwood) is very wooded. Its actually the most wooded course in the Houston area. Not real long. Holes are from 200ft to 320ft. Most are around 250-270ft. Some tight fairways , but no water. We might be playing there tomorrow afternoon if it doesn't rain. Let me know if you want to join us.
