Disc golf is my passion when it comes to a pass-time. It is great exercise, you get to enjoy the great outdoors, and you get to spend time with good people while playing an enjoyable sport. I am relatively new to the sport when you look at how long I have been playing, but I have logged hundreds of hours and played thousands of holes on upwards of 30 courses in a few different states and I don't plan on slowing down anytime soon. I disc year round and usually get a round in every other day if not everyday.
I consider myself an amateur, even though I have minimal tournament experience. I have only played in one tournament, that being the Standing Rocks Open in the intermediate division, which I did very well in. I plan on being more active on the tournament front, while also becoming a PDGA member in the near future.
I strive to play every course I possibly can, and I like to travel and make trips out of hitting up multiple courses. Overall, I feel my experience and number of courses played over the small number of years I have been throwing can speak for itself. When I'm tackling courses, I look for what most golfers look for: challenge, variety, a good mixture of finesse and long shots, and ease of navigation throughout the course. Bonuses include the sheer beauty of a course layout and the scenery, also just the location and drive to the course as well.
I am primarily a RHBH thrower, but I also have a very solid FH shot as well. I utilize both throws a lot, and I will tend to avoid most anhyzer shots with my BH unless its pretty open because I am much more accurate with my FH. I am a huge fan of hyzer shots, and will try to utilize them as much as possible. This may factor into some of my course reviews, for I tend to like a lot of courses that are a tad more open and let you open and rip it. I think most disc golfers can attest to that.
