My use of the stars::

0 - 0.5 - In my opinion it's not worth wasting your time. Course will be either frustrating to play, or just not really a course.

1 - 1.5 worth a look but don't travel for it. There might be a redeeming feature (lovely views, nice site) the golf will not be good though or there will be a major issue with the site (ie impossible to play without a guide or spotter)

2 - 2.5 Again worth a look but not worth a detour either reasonable golf in a lacklustre setting or a beautiful setting with some pretty uninspiring holes chucked in.

3 - 3.5 - A course I would recommend other players check out. It won't be perfect, there may be signs missing, no tees, other issues, but the quality of the golf will be good and you should have fun out there playing.

4 upwards, This course will normally have multiple tees, probably at least 18 baskets, the golf will be good with fair fairways and a good design and flow. At the bottom end there may be some issues with tees/signage etc, If I'm giving a 4 or up I would be amazed if any level of player could go there and not get something out of the experience. .

My reviews will tend to weight heavier in the camp of good golf and good design than other amenities.I like a course to test a range of shots and to bring in the unique parts of a piece of land and showcase them.
