I have been playing a form of disc golf since the late 70's. A couple of "holes" around the house where you have to land your Frisbee (that's what we used) on a lawn chair seat. At family picnics we would have to hit a tree. Winner picks the next tree to throw at. I didn't try an actual course with baskets until the early 2000s and got my first discs soon after that.
