Here we are in July of 2013. I did not reach the 100 course mark at the end of 2012. I got to 94 by the day before Thanksgiving. I did add 18 courses to the list in 2012, including two more in Iowa. However, I did finally pass the 100 mark on a disc golf/camping trip on June 28, 2013. West Brook Park in DeWitt, Iowa was #100. I hit the course in Clinton Iowa before that to bring me to 99. I played Camden Park in Milan, Illinois the next day to make it 101. There are a few courses around Lafayette, Indiana I hope to hit up this summer as well. I travel all over the Chicago Metro area to play. I surpassed my original goal of playing 50 different courses back in June, 2009. I stated back in 2009 that I hoped to play a few courses in Wisconsin by summer 2010. Well, that did not happen. Instead, I played a few in Michigan in August 2010. I finally added the State of Wisconsin to my disc resume in June 2011. I might try to hit up some courses in the SE corner of the state this summer. I live in the south suburbs of Chicago east of I-57. I wish some new courses would spring up out this way. There is plenty of space. May all you members of the disc fraternity/sorority continue to enjoy this wonderful game. I like to say, "disc it up." Get out there and disc it up!

    Hey Rex,

Campton Hills is my favorite niner (so far) as well. If you enjoyed my review enough feel free to give it a thumbs up!

Funny you ask about the Danada South course idea. I've actually been in contact with the Wheaton Park District about this. Basically, they need approval from the DuPage Forest Preserve who isn't as enthusiastic about the idea. They encouraged me to contact the forest preserve board as a resident to encourage them to support the idea. I plan to do this and would be happy to forward you my correspondence if you wanted to throw more weight behind it. One person probably won't make the difference but if we can garner more support within the community it may help. Thanks for reaching out!
Maybe premium membership is not required to post videos, but it seems that way. Sidewinding Hill and I played in Braidwood and Wilmington yesterday. We had plenty left in the tank to hit up the course in Bourbonnais, but we wanted to make sure we were back in time for the Belmont Stakes.
I do not know if it is required I just got premium way back in the day to support this great site because of how it has helped me find good courses in my area. Are you not able to post your vids here?
I played my first new course of 2014 yesterday. Sidewinding Hill and I played Countryside Park in Portage, Indiana. i enjoyed it. It is still a work in progress. There are tee markers, but no signs yet. i hope to hit it up again in the summer along with the course in Valpo.
Well, I played a round of disc golf on Dec. 27 at Sgt. Means with my buddy sidewinding Hill. It looks like that will be my last round of 2013. Today, Dec 29, is the last week of regular season football. The last two days of the year will be very frigid. I play in the cold, but not below zero windchill cold. I am already looking forward to the spring.
Well, November of 2013 has arrived today. I added a few course to my list and surpassed the 100 mark back in late June. I sure hope we do not ahve a lot of snow this winter in Chicagoland. I don't mind playing in the cold, but I will not play in snow over two inches inches.
Playing freedom Park yesterday brings me to 90 courses played. I am catching up to you. I see you are up to 103. It was fun hitting up Quad Cities again this year. Wish we could do that every year.
Channahon was a good time last weekend. Glad your brother got to join us. What a difference a week can make. This spring has mostly sucked so far. Hope we get some warm, dry weather soon.
I've made disc golf my life. For the previous 3 years I've worked 2 jobs that provide room and board about 6 months of the year, no bills, bank $$. The remaining 6 months of the year or so I've spent traveling for the sake of DG, playing as many courses as possible all day every day.
Better late than never as they say. Maybe we could check out that new course in Lowell next time we play at Lemon Lake. That would get you one step closer to hitting the 100 course mark. I hope that course goes back up in Oakbrook soon. I hope the new design is not a mostly wide open course.
Thanks for the kind words about my trinity review. Glad to hear that people appreciate the time and effort that I put into my reviews.
I lost one of my favorite discs in the high grass at Goose Lake in Roselle back in July 2008. I looked at least 45 minutes for that thing before I gave up in frustration. Talk about a buzz kill. I had a full day of disc planned after Goose Lake, my first stop of the day. Well, I had to adjust a little and break in another disc to be my driver. I have lost a three or four "favorite discs" since then. That is part of the game unless you play at boring, low risk courses all the time.
Unfortunately I didn't find your disc, but thanks for the offer to let me keep it anyway. I just figured I'd ask since the only one I found with a number on it turned out to have been sitting in there for two ears since the guy lost it. Good disc golfing to you too
Well, I am up to 74 courses played. 2011 has been a cool year for disc so far. I have managed to play more courses this year than any other year since I started playing in in 2005, including 14 for the first time. I finally got a chance to play in Wisconsin. I also played a private course for the first time this year. I made it back to Anne Page Park (EAST and WEST) for the first time since 2007. That course is definitely longer, but I enjoyed my return. I hope to hit another course or two I haven't yet played before the year is over.
I recently played in snow for the first time. i played at Sgt. Means Park in Olympia Fields, Il. on MLK Day. I played The Oaks in Mokena, Il. on Feb.4. I am ready for winter to end. I want to start playing disc golf at least once a week again.
I found another course for the wish list--Idlewild in Kentucky. I see a bunch of reviewers gave it five stars. That is the first five-star review I have seen. The photos definitely got me itching to play there. I must take a drive down there from the south suburbs of Chicago and check it out. Do those of you who have played Idlewild think it is worth such a long drive?
