Surprisingly Fun, Nice Surprise Tucked Away 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 10, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Hole 4 over the water fun risk factor.
- Beautiful park
- Nice mix of long and short
- All tees are cement
- Park is well kept and clean
- No real difficult/sloppy areas on the course.

Cons:

- No signage, without a course map you will not be able to play this course properly.
- Baskets could be updated. Baskets could be more clearly numbered, especially since there is no signage.
- Not a lot of demand for different shot selection, I threw every hole RHBH.
- Some tees too small (small quib mostly based on my own play style)

Other Thoughts:

There is a nice course map at the beginning, be sure to take a picture. You will need it since there is no signage on the course.

Fun Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 18, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

The park is in good condition with lots of mature trees. The branches were generally high enough not to cause unrealistic problems. The river was used well and even though it wasn't real wide, when you stepped on the tee pad you considered the chances of not making it. The use of natural features in the park was good. There are a couple of baskets close enough to the river you have to conisder your drives/approaches and even putts.

Cons:

There were a couple of holes that used man made features as obstacles and if those features are in use by other people, the hole may be unplayable at that time. There are a couple of holes where the baskets and tee pads are a bit close together and may cause issues on a busy day.

Other Thoughts:

I know some people skipped Hole 4 across the river on their first trip through which challenged me not to...so I didn't. I ended up paying the price as I lost a disc, but don't regret it. I really enjoyed this course and would like to take another shot at it and will if I get a chance during my travels around the state. It's a must play course if you are close.

Nice challenge 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 1, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Seemed to be a little challenging on some holes.
Room to hang one out there and bomb down the fairway on most holes.
Nice setting. Well kept park. Lots of space.

Cons:

My biggest problem was trying to figure out how to get one up in the air, over the trees THEN over the bridge, the river, more trees and on the other side. I skipped that hole, I didn't feel like it was worth losing a disc while trying out the course.
The only other problem I had was figuring out where the 1st hole was and how the course played from there. After about 3 holes, It flowed nicely enough, I figured it out.

Other Thoughts:

Next time I'm in Beloit, I will have to stop and play it again. Well worth stopping to play a round or two. Seemed like I walked a long way to finish this course. The river/old mill buildings seemed really cool as well.

Awesome course in small town 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 10, 2009 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Great challenge. Lots of obstacles, crossing the river is a great way for me to practice and to work on my straight shots and curves. The course was well maintained, all of the tees were well maintained and smooth. They could use a fresh coat of paint to help point you in the right direction.

Cons:

The course is spread out and the only map is mounted on a building. There is no actual order in the course so finding each hole took awhile, especially since you had to cross the river. There is a road cutting through the course which is fine but if you don't make it across the road you can destroy your disc. There is a tennis court right in front of one of holes which makes it a little more difficult.

Other Thoughts:

Watch out for the river. I skipped it the first time and played it on the second time. I lost a disc in the river and had to go swimming. I loved the challenge though.

Basic, scenic and clean fun 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 4, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

This course is on good land, with a large river that is thrown over..twice, large fields with sloped hills, and some tall trees and low branches. Cement tees, course map at the parking lot. Well mowed. Free camping!

Cons:

Even with map, hard to navigate due to an odd layout, and crossing the river twice over a large bridge. One hole over the river is blind. There could be campers, picnicers, etc on the fairways.
