This course could be one of the best in the state.
I rate it a 2 only becouse of the grounds.
The baskets need to be repaired and painted so you can actually see them.
Needs signage.
Really cool place, make sure you have a full two hours to play.
Also bring hiking boots (not tennis shoes) good course, just needs funding.

This is a YMCA grounds, so they will have camps during the summer.
During Fall through Spring you should be ok, but I would check first to see if it's open to the public during the summer.

Really wanted to like this course. It could be the shizzle.
Bring bug spray, water and a snack. Bigfoot has been seen at this location, bring jack links jerky.

Great elevation change on this course with lots of up and down holes adding to the challenge of your round.
Course has both dog leg L and R shots.
All of the holes have challenging lines and you must shape your shots in order to score well.
Water threat on holes 3 and 4. The island placement on holes 3 was the signature hole, IMO, and added a nice challenge.
Hole 17 was the longest hole on the course, 600+ft, mostly downhill but a well placed first and second shot are needed to have a look at a 3.
Many of the holes have low ceilings so you must think about your shot selection if you want to score well.
Many of the holes had 2 sets of tees to give you a different look and to add to this all ready challenging course.
Secluded feel for a city course.
Tons of risk/rewards on almost every hole.
Threat of roll-a-way putts in spots.
Staff were helpful and friendly.
A variety of shots are needed in order to score well on this course for sure. BH, FH, and OH shots will come in handy in spots.
Recently added new tee signs, which have 2 sets of bag hangers on the back, help to keep you informed by giving you the distance of each hole.

As others have said one of the main drawbacks are the lack of cement tee pads. The mulch/dirt tees do work surprisingly well but I wonder how grippy they would be in the wet conditions?
Maintenance would be hard during the growing season as the terrain wouldn't allow for a mower in several spots. Course would obviously play easier during the winter months.
Getting on here requires some patience but its worth the wait. Make arrangements and call ahead before you show up and you should be fine.
Might be difficult to navigate the first time so taking the map(which are available upon check in) is highly advised.
Some of the newly installed tee signs have been up rooted all ready. Hopefully they can be reinstalled.

This is a great course that seems to get less play than the other courses in the area. If you love a technical course then this course is right up your alley and I would say its one of, if not the most technical, in Tulsa. I would love to have another crack at this course to try to better my score and to try to figure out the lines on several holes.
Players that love to bomb drives will not like this course much but players that love the "thinking mans course", IE wooded/technical course, will love this one.
This course has a rustic feel to it, meaning that many of the holes aren't quite as defined as say park golf holes. Never the less the lines are still there you just have to be accurate in your execution.
You will need to be accurate on this course for sure as getting back into the fairway might add a few more strokes to your round.
I like courses like this were there is elevation and tight lines that need to be hit in order to score well. If the course had concrete tees and a few "open" holes I think the rating would be higher and the course would get more play.
Regardless this is a quality course and a must play if you are in the Tulsa area and can get on.

This course is the best Tulsa has to offer as far as difficulty. A hidden gem! If it had cement pads, better tee signs, and was better maintained it would be a 5 stat course. It is similar to the well loved Blackhawk, but this course has tons of elevation. If you are traveling be sure to hit up this course!

Very well designed course. The space is utilized very well, requiring a number of types of throws. There are lots of tight lines through the trees to be found here, and there is actually a pretty significant amount of elevation change - a rarity in Oklahoma.

The staff were all very nice people, they did not charge us when we were there - and they let us play even though the camp was having some sort of a public event that day. They actually even let us use one of their canoes to retrieve an errant disc from the island in the lake.

No concrete teepads is by far the largest drawback to this course. If they got out there and poured some solid pads, I would have rated this course a 4.

I've only played here once, and didn't see any, but I would imagine this place is a breeding ground for snakes, and the like (hence the name).

This is a well designed course, that will challenge all levels of players. Many of the lines are very tight and technical, while others still offer some considerable open space (the 17th is a 600 ft straightline bomber with a gorgeous view of downtown in the backdrop). I enjoyed playing here as it challenged many parts of my game - and provided some fun elevation change and variety.

This could be an amazing course if somebody loved it. The hole design is great. I especially enjoyed the front nine, where the two small ponds are well used. My favorite was hole 4 which starts as a tight tunnel shot, then goes over a small pond to a basket on the far hillside. Hole 8 was also intense, following the edge of the lake with a precariously placed basket behind a gully. The back nine are through a hilly wooded area, where the windows are always tight. And 17 is a big 600 foot downhill with woods on both sides.

Unfortunately, no one is busy loving this course. The tee pads are just wood chips. The tee signs are often unreadable, and one was knocked over. The baskets are worn, beat up. Some really ought to be replaced. Even with a map, navigation is a bit confusing. Without a map it would be impossible. A couple holes on the back nine are also near the highway, which ruins the ambience a bit.

I played this course on a drizzly morning in December. It was still lots of fun. But it also made me a bit sad, because with some renovations this could be a 4.5 rated course.

Lots of great looking shots, up and down hills, heavily wooded, couple open wide, few over or around water excellent 600ft downhill tunnel shot with a view of the downtown skyline of tulsa.

a little confusing getting around the first time but the office has a map if you ask for one also you have to pay 5$ per day it says course is open 3-6 but i have gone up there and played at 9am and then again at 3pm you sign in and they usually remember you for the day. also closed for the summer time which this would be prime time to play this place in my opinoin.

Paying isnt so bad your helping the local ymca and the more kids that can get exposed to the sport the better i think.
