Fun play 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 27, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Very good beginner course. Easy to follow course that was a fun quick play.

Cons:

Very flat. Wasn't a very challenging course. It wasn't mowed when I played last.

Other Thoughts:

Easy to keep your discs in eyesight. You won't lose anything at this place.

3rd best course around Yankton 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 15, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

-It looks good, lake and river views, big trees.
-Decent signage, shows map, par, distance
-Easy to follow layout, shouldn't get lost here
-Good for beginners to learn
-You're not going to lose a disc here
-Hole 8 uses the only elevation here to shoot from a tee near the park entrance down to a basket ~20 feet lower
-Lots of ace runs and deuces

Cons:

-Baskets were damaged by recent storm, hopefully repaired soon
-Trees weren't really used at all, no real obstacles
-Same with water, could have made some risky shots
-Natural tees that are dirt, can be very muddy when wet. Possibly uneven.
-Very short for most holes. Other than hole 8 none of them were very interesting.

Other Thoughts:

Play Gavin's Point and Memorial Stop before this course. This is the 3rd best course in town. Stop by the dam to see large paddle fish and lots of water. Camping in State Rec Areas nearby.

By the Lake, yet Not by the Lake 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 28, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a little course was put in by a lake with a nice view, but the lake never really come into play. The area is very flat and full of middle aged trees. Navigation here will not be a problem. #8 is a shot off a slightly elevated tee. There are decent tee signs on every hole and there is a bathroom here. There is plenty of parking and the area seems clean.

Cons:

The ruts in the dirt tees are starting to get bad. The course is a bit short and did not use the trees to create interesting holes. There needs to be more trashcans and there really wasn't any kind of message board.

Other Thoughts:

The Fun Factor kind of took the word fun out. This is a simple layout with simple holes and nothing to get excited over. If you were going to skip one course in Yankton, SD, this is probably the one to pass on. If you were going to spend the day at the lake, I suppose you could take your discs just for a break from the lake.
