Pros:

Kinston is a facinating place with a unique perspective which carries over to the disc golf course.
The course is very technical. Most holes feature a tough tee shot and they demand a variety of different shots to be successful.
Elevation change and a beautiful creek bed are both used well.

Cons:

Very difficult to navigate! You really must have a guide on you first time through. There are no maps, tee signs or directions to next tee.
The course appears to be maintained at a minimum level for those who already know it.
There are no toilets, water, or benches on the course. Kingston does not have any prepared food - bring it from the city!
Fairways are often difficult to identify. Shots are through tightly wooded areas with the viable routes hard to distinguish from the tee.
The course is on very rough terrain. Stout footgear is an excellent idea. Week knees and ankles are not welcomed by mother nature here.

Other Thoughts:

I stayed overnight at the Black Range Lodge, which was a great experience. I had about 2 hours in the evening and another hour in the morning to play the course. My guide did not show up as planned so a local who does not play showed me were to start and pointed out many of the baskets. With that I was only able to definitely figure out the first 13 holes. I for sure did not get the last three.
I was told at supper that there is a local who plays nearly every day at 4:pM - wish I had been there then!
There is a really good course lurking behind the lack of attention and directions to get around the course.
