Short and sweet 2+ years

Pros:

A small park along the scenic Cedar river offers a decent pitch and putt challenge.

**Note that I played this course in the winter, every hole was playable and tee pads were easy to find, this review should carry over well to summer play.

Amenities. Bathrooms, Picnic shelter, quiet city park.

Tees. Concrete tee pads on every hole were level and in decent shape, though short they suit the length of the course fine as a runup should not be necessary.

Navigation. Very straightforward, from the previous hole's basket you can easily see the next tee pad. The biggest challenge was finding hole 1 in the far Southeast corner of the park, I actually started on hole 3 not wanting to spend all day searching for the correct place to start (this plan works fine as the course makes a nice loop).

Baskets. All Mach III baskets were in good shape and existed. Some of the number plates had the correct hole number, many were missing.

Water. The river comes into play on two holes (3 and 4) and it makes you think about your shot selection, though not really a concern unless you shank a shot, the water could have been put to better use.

Elevation. What little elevation that exists on this course is used rather well.

Well Maintained. The park was clean and everything appeared to be in good condition.

Winter Maintenance. Somebody had been out to clear the tee pads, that was nice for playing a winter round.

Scenic. Playing just along the river provides a nice view and we were treated to plenty of waterfowl watching our game.

Ace/Birdie Opportunities. Every hole (less hole 2) is an ace run in the making.

Beginner Friendly. If you can avoid the river and the highway, this course would be an ok place to learn the game. The simplicity of the holes provides a place to practice lines, approaches, and putts with little consequence.

Cons:

Signage. A lack of signage keeps you guessing throughout the round.

Variety. Not too bad for a pitch and putt course, but each hole felt about the same ~200 feet with a couple of trees as obstacles requiring some basic line shaping. Overall it simple and relatively boring.

Length. 8 holes right around 200' with hole 2 giving an opportunity to let it rip assuming you can avoid the trees. The park has opportunity for longer holes as all of the space is not used to its potential, on a technical aspect, I suppose they worked with what they had.

Other user areas. I'm not sure if there is a specific parking area in the summer, but while I was there a car pulled just off the road became an obstacle on hole 6. Also the highway is nearby hole 7, a shanked shot could easily hit a passing car. It is a public multiuse park, I saw someone walking their dog - just be aware of other users.

Other Thoughts:

A decent pitch and putt course with a little technical variety and one long hole. If passing through with an extra half hour, sure stop by for a quick practice round. If you have more time, go to Todd Park.

Simple but fun 2+ years drive by

Pros:

Nice concrete tees and good baskets.
Play flows very nicely from hole to hole, doesn't need to be labeled.

Cons:

It can be busy at times and might need to let pedestrians pass.

Other Thoughts:

I love that we can stop and play it quick if we have a half hour to kill.

Pros:

Concrete tees; reasonably good baskets.

Cons:

Not maintained at all other than mowing. A short course with no info for the holes other than some baskets being numbered. Runs through middle of park traffic; very compact.

Other Thoughts:

Maybe a good practice course as long as you don't hit anybody. Overall, unimpressive.
