A rvisit with an old friend 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 2, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Last time I played this course was some six years ago, and now for an update on my most recent round:

-They have totaly redesigned this course in the six years since I last played it and wow!!!!

-New cement tee pads, old ones were blacktop and beat up
-New tee signs posts. they have placed the signs on 6 x 6 posts and added hangars on each one, so you can hang up your bag while waiting to tee or teeing off.
-A couple of my old favorite holes still exist (#8, where you ride the edge of the water and around to the basket, blind shot, #11 where it's 10 feet behind a tree and perfect dead on aim can still bring an ace.)
-Last I remember was a 9 and now an 18 holer (missing 5&6, but looks like they will be up soon)
-Many baskets play close to the woods and water, so careful planning of shots are a must.
-Garbage bins at every tee, to help keep the park clean
-Regular bathrooms and a porta pot available.
-Nicely trimmed grass, just like in the old days
-And last but not least, the same friendly guys and gals I remember out and about playing.

Cons:

-Holes 5 & 6 not yet completed
-Tee for #7 and 9 are lined up next to eachother, so may have to wait to tee if on one of those two holes.
-A couple fairways play close to eachother or across eachother, so need to watch for others.
-They took out the old #6 hole which back in the day was my most favorite, and challenging (but the overall new design and layout was great)

Other Thoughts:

-Pizza Ranch across the street, with a lunch buffet
-They reversed the course layout and with the new design it through me off at first, but was worth it.
-Once the other two holes are finished, will be back and for sure raise the score on this course.

Worth going to eventually. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 16, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Water comes into play on quite a few holes. Tees are marked and have good directions to hole. Pins are marked and are in good shape. Decent variety with the holes, but some are not very long for being Par 4s or 5s.

Cons:

Course is under construction right now. Holes 1-6 and 18 are missing.

Most holes are pretty open, though some have trees nearby to add a little difficulty.

Other Thoughts:

I look forward to playing this course again once the landscaping is done and the other seven holes are back. I would add another point to my rating if the course was finished.
