+ This is a very plain around-the-park layout that seems mostly forgotten. But there are several features that add some fun to the play:

Hole #1 is a 350ish with a late dogleg right. It's a good RHFH challenger.

The basket on #3 is tucked into a small glen, protected by a ring of trees. You can throw straight through the gap, or drop a high hyzer in.

The basket on #7 is perched at the edge of a steep slope leading down to a creek. It's a surprisingly severe death putt for such a tame park course


+ The holes are pretty long for a park course: only 2 of them are shorter than 300'. The par is a very generous 33, which makes sense for newbies who might try out the game at a multi use park

- Hole #4 plays way too close to a baseball diamond, and hole #8 requires you to thread your way over the corner of a parking lot within about 30' of a park building. These are just really bad design


- There's a stretch of holes in the middle where you're just throwing down the sides of wide open athletic fields. Long, boring holes

It's been a long time since the last review, and the biggest change isn't with the course itself, but with the availability of apps like uDisc - which really solve a lot of the navigation problems cited in early reviews. The tees are still natural grass - and they appear to have been painted sometime within the last few months. There are still no signs and the baskets are that much older. But if you use uDisc, you can find your way around, locate most of the tees, and play this mostly-forgettable around-the-park layout.


This is a textbook "2" to me. It's just a park nine with a couple of fun shots and a few significant flaws. Nothing really broken here, as long as you're not playing when other park users would interfere. The earlier 1.5's are probably right, but uDisc really solved a lot of the navigation issues for me.


The course has the feeling of being 9 baskets that were placed, and then largely forgotten. If I were local, I might bring discs to throw while my kids play sports. But I can't imagine any other circumstances where somebody would play this course more than once.

The course is a 9 hole course spread about the town's recreational outdoor space and borders the library. The drives and fairways are very open, with a couple tricky hole locations. On contrast to many of the New England forest-filled courses that don't allow one to "open up", this course has several holes which allow long drives to occur. What's more, aside from tunnel shots, a variety of basic shots are required on this course, which suits a beginner such as I quite nicely.

The cost is free- always a plus.

There is a diner within walking distance that is fantastic to go to before/after a round or two!

I'm not a fan of citing any cons for places- everywhere has its own character. I would like to comment on cons that have been posted though, and perhaps provide a solution.

No directions from one hole to the next tee box to the next hole has been a recurring theme. Solution: walk around, get exercise, find where there is the painted tee area.

The tee areas are painted on- but remember, this is a public recreational area- having a permanent wood/cement slab in the middle of where people may want to play softball/football, etc, doesn't seem like a good idea.

This is certainly a great course to get your basic shot practice on, as well as air out some big drives that are not as common in the New England area. The town is full of other things to do, as well as nearby delicious places to eat. Enjoy.

Foster's Meadow DGC starts behind the Hartland Center Recreation Center and plays around the expansive area including the wooded area behind the library and Rec Center. This area includes the playground and basketball courts of the Rec Center, large open soccer and baseball/softball fields.

There was some kind of a summer recreation program going on when I showed up to play. A young man pointed me to where the first tee box was PAINTED on the grass. So # 1 is a 363' anhyser around a big tree. The baskets are older Discatchers with the yellow band and the numbers on them. But they aren't permanent, they're portable. # 1 was set in a tire. Others were afixed in different ways.

I was able to eventually locate most of the PAINTED tee boxes. Never did find the painted desert, however. I have no idea where the # 5 basket was moved to. According to my barely readily on-line map, it should have been up in the area near the library. All I saw were books!

This would be a pretty average little city park course if only it had some marked tees. Agreeing with the two previous reviewers, a course without tees is lacking a major component. I don't appreciate spending my time wandering around looking for markings on the grass when a few simple next tee arrows would help so much.

Another little disc golf course put in on a budget (cheaply) when spending just a few dollars more or having a local disc golf club do the work themselves could result in a much more enjoyable experience. It just makes me appreciate a course like Otter Brook where a dedicated group of disc club members are building a wonderful course the right way.

The course is located on a recreational property so there is plenty for your family, and you to do other than disc golf. There is a playground, basketball and tennis court, as well as baseball and soccer fields on the premisis. The property is very well manicured and almost impossible to lose he course is wide open the basket positions are very challanging and tucked into what little woods were there. There are several ace races available. Innova Disccatcher portable baskets are in good shape.

NO SIGNAGE! There are no next tee signs and even for someone who has played the course quite a few times (my guide) it was confusing finding the next tee. The tee boxes are spray painted lines and numbers on the grass. Some of the holes are right next to/shoot over the sports fields.

Fun course, but no signage and poor design hold it back. Favors RHBH.

This course gives you a good reason to visit this gorgeous area of Vermont. Right off the interstate but deep in the wooded hills. The course sits in a quiet park in a quiet town. Good variety of hole length, with trees coming in to play on several (generally open) holes. Nice kiosk with ample map/scorecards available for pickup.

NO TEES! This is not an expense to spare when planting a course. Inexplicably, the scorecard lists two precise distances for each hole, as though there were actual tees and permanent pin placements, neither of which exist. When baskets are movable and tees are made up as you go (based on a simple overhead map), it's really hard to even evaluate a course's layout quality at all.

Stop for lunch at Stella's restaurant, just down the road (at the "big" intersection in town). Tasty food and pleasant, small-town feel.
