Yes Bill, That is a tank. 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 17, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Concrete tee pads with signs similar to Cottonmill (6x6).
Creek can come into play for new players, but disc loss risk is minimal.

Cons:

signage is worn out, missing, and even blank on some holes.

Hole 3 is a disappointment; sidewalk is the tee and it throws over tee 4, which is also sidewalk.
Hole 5's sign is blank and I almost shot at the wrong basket until I saw another group approaching to it. 7's sign is blank.
8's tee is hidden in the corner of the property and has a treehanging over the left side of the pad that will really interfer with a lefties follow through.

Other Thoughts:

Hole 1 starts up by an army tank, Yes connorjones another course with an army tank :).
It is a good quick course if you want to stretch out your legs.
With Oxford currently unplayable, Lexington rated at a zero. your choices are limited to Minden or driving up to Kearney. This course is more challenging than Minden, and a little more open than Ft. Kearney.

This course is so close to 2.0 rating. New signage and trimming of the tree on hole 8 would improve this course to an 2.5 rating.

Good Course For Everyone 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 14, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a good course for anyone even the experienced player. A lot of the holes are a straight shot but most of them are fairly decent in length but there are a few holes that are surrounded by trees.

Cons:

Holes #1 and #9 are way to close to each other and can be confusing for someone just playing the course for the first time. They should be more clearly labeled from the maps on the teepads.

Other Thoughts:

Good course that was worth the drive.

Surprising for a small town course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 6, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Cement tee pads
- Posts next to the tee pads showing the layout of the hole with distance.
- Multiple basket positioins for each hole.
- Clean and well-kept and clean park.
- Not all holes are dead-straight throws. A decent number of them curve to the right or left.
- Some holes have the basket protected by a ring of trees adding some challenge to getting at the basket and forcing you to use a number of different throws.
- Small creek runs through the middle of the course which comes into play on a few holes.

Cons:

- Course is mostly flat.
- Some tee boxes are part of the sidewalk, which could be a small problem if the course is busy (luckily it was pretty much empty when i played)
- Two holes play rather close to a playground which could be a problem if you have a bad drive.

Other Thoughts:

For as small as the town of Holdrege is, i was surprised at how big the park was. The course is pretty decent for being in a small town. There are plenty of nice, big, old trees throughout the course and they do come into play on almost every hole. Thankfully, the holes on the course aren't dead-straight, like many small-town coursed tend to do. They hook to the left and right and make you focus on your throw. The holes are mostly similar in length, usually between 250 and 300 feet (the tee signs mistakenly mark them in yards), with some shorter holes. Overall, this would be a great course for people who are learning the game, while still having enough challenge to keep an intermediate player's attention.

Just a Quickie 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 2, 2008 Played the course:once

Pros:

Simple little park with the course laid right in as if it was there before all the things around it were put in. Message board and trashcans were great. This was not hard to follow around. Some of the pins were placed well with the trees and so forth to give you options for your drives. This does have cement tees and to save money the worked them in with sidewalk where they could get away with it. You can see the pins from every tee. They do get this small creek that runs through the park involved with course a little bit.

Cons:

If this park gets busy, you may have trouble ever teeing off on some of the holes. So, safety may be an issue. The bathrooms are only available when the pool is open. #5 and #7 tee signs were missing info.

Other Thoughts:

Fun factor is fair. If you are there when no one else is around, I think this is a great place for a quickie. Otherwise, I am not sure I would want to play it on any kind of regular basis.
