A Place To Throw In Libby! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 3, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

The course plays around the Libby Middle School and has two holes that are not on school property. I watched two deer stroll through the school grounds,

# 1. Like Lanceln says park right in front of school. 1st tee is slightly left of bus waiting covered area. You're throwing towards the backstop about 280' towards the football field. The basket sits right behind the backstop.

# 2. Tee is behind the backstop. The #2 basket is in the N. corner of the field with the football goalposts.

# 3. Teebox is close to the basket. You're throwing along the end of the football field. The basket is on the left side up near the old backstop straight ahead.

# 4. Walk towards the softball/little league fields complex. The # 4 tee box is in the left field corner of the first field on your left. This field is field # 4. The basket is by the left center field side of field # 2. You'll tee off across the grassy vacant field on your right.

# 5. Walk down towards the backstop of field # 2 and look back through the clearing towards a brown log house. You'll find a tee box there and basket # 5 is broken but might be propped up by sticks about 200' towards the brown cabin.

# 6. Walk on the path back toward the middle school. The tee box is in the corner of the old ballfield there. The # 6 basket is up the 1st baseline behind the grey cinder building.

# 7. Teebox is farther down the 1st baseline extended on the small ridge above the football field. The # 7 basket is across the field in the S. corner.

# 8. Walk up the small hill to # 8 teebox. This is a straight 200' shot through the trees.

# 9. Next teebox is slightly ahead of you. It's about a 280' throw and the electrical poles and lines are directly in the way.

Finish up by walking around the school back to your parked car.

Cons:

There are no signs and no teepads. # 5 basket basket is broken and needs to be repaired. But if I lived in Libby, I'd come here and throw all the time.

Other Thoughts:

Even though this course is mostly on school property, it wouldn't be officially used by middle school students. School officials would never let them wander off through the woods during a P.E. class or at lunch.

Not bad, all things considered. 2+ years drive by

Pros:

Good use of the area provided. Variety of hole lengths and styles. Hopefully, having this course at a middle school will expose kids to disc golf and grow the sport.

Cons:

A little tough to figure out where to start, and where to go sometimes, but, with the help of a couple of locals, we did figure it out. Tee pads of sand, a little rough. The fifth hole was knocked over, whether accidentally or not, I don't know, but hopefully it will get put back up soon.

Other Thoughts:

If you are coming to play this course, park in the parking lot near the main entrance to the school. The first tee pad is right near the sign. The fourth hole plays long and back toward the baseball fields. The fifth hole starts near the far field and goes back toward the school. The sixth - ninth basically go around the backside of the school. We played this course fairly quickly, once we figured out where we were going, and I enjoyed it (though I would have liked it better if I made a couple of deuce putts!). Hopefully the setting allows the middle schoolers to play the course and get into disc golf.
