Fun, but tough 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 15, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

On a hill, great views, ski lift is rode up to the top.

Downhill throws mean throws can go farther!

Cons:

Due to the massive snowfall over the winter and such, the vegitation is very very very thick and green this year easy to lose discs.

Dirt tee pads can be problem for some.

Its a hill, and is physically demanding.

Cost has gone up but no changes other than pin movements.

Costs more than day pass at other parks or private courses (12 bucks for disc golf pass)

Other Thoughts:

Fun course, when lush and green vegitation discs can get lost easily. This year they moved 16/17 to the other side of the alpine slide, when it used to go all the way down the hill.

Great course, can take a long time to play if searching for discs.

Highly recommend to have a spotter when throwing so you can easily find your disc.

Overpriced 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 28, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Cons:

This course now costs $12 per round to play. It is not worth it in its current state.

Other Thoughts:

If you keep increasing the price without improving our maintaining the course, no one will show up to give you any money at all.

Long putter tee shots 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 20, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Can't beat the view of Mt. Hood
Chair lift up was nice

Cons:

VERY uneven dirt tee boxes
No signs

Other Thoughts:

This is a tale of 2 courses. The first half is pretty solid. You have some longer shots needed, technical shots needed and you will be using your drivers. Lots of brush and undergrowth on several of the holes if you miss your lines. If the tee boxes were level and not full up uneven bumps I'd give the first half of the course a 3.0 rating. As is I'd say a 2.5.

As soon as you really start down the mountain then the course really looses it's charm. You are throwing down to holes that you are MUCH MUCH higher than so you can easily throw 300+ ft putter shots. If you mess up and over disc (which is easy to do) you will end up picking up your disc 1-2 holes later as it is just way too far down the hill. You are basically just throwing down diagonally to open baskets for the back half. So I give the back half a rating of 1.5.
You are going to want stable shoes out there, very uneven walking throughout the course. I wouldn't make a point to come back here unless I brought my family to the adventure park (which is fantastic btw). So I don't think this course would be worth the drive unless you are taking part in the other attractions in the area.

8 dollars now 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 30, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

-nice baskets
-not crowded and lifts were smooth to top
-baskets nice bright red high viz
-holes easy to find just be careful on 4 that you dont throw at 5.

Cons:

-zig zag for back 9 with 17-18 ending uneventful.
-18 tee box by some old snow equipment and trucks that is reeking of spilt diesel and fuel. Could if EPA visited lead them to be fined as it empties into creek.

Other Thoughts:

The course is ok but the fuel spill smell is not echo friendly and its shameful. The course cannot be ranked high when there is this kind of issue by the resort.

2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 30, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course is not actually on Mt Hood, but an adjacent mountain. Hood is often in view, and those views are pretty awesome. The elevation change is, of course, pretty extreme. If you've never had the chance to bomb drive after drive down the hill, it's pretty fun. The early holes offer some diversity and technicality. The chairlift was actually running. (That may sound like a lame pro, but I've played plenty of ski courses where it wasn't.)

Cons:

I don't think a lot of thought was put into the design of this course. The later holes are mostly just wide open shots zigzaging down the ski slope. None of the holes are particularly creative. Most of the baskets are single chains, though they don't seem to catch too bad. Like most ski courses, the tees are pretty rough. There is a lot of tall grass and brush even in the open areas. And if you go into the woods, well, you may not see that disc ever again.

Other Thoughts:

In case it matters to you, know that the chairlift is $7 (per person). A lot of the course is pretty exposed, make sure to bring water and sunscreen.

Pros:

The view is SPECTACULAR!! Playing on the mountain was a load of fun.

Cons:

Typical lay out for a mountain, mostly down hill. (duh) Don't go left on 11, very tall grass w/ elevation drop took my disc. Take bug repellent as the mosquitos were heavy on 1 of my rounds.

Other Thoughts:

Take bug spray. And use older discs if possible as a few holes are over rocky paths.

You need to pay for the ride up also.

Better than expected, kind of 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 16, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

1-9 are very very fun. Elevation changes, narrow fairways, and a few short open holes. Great chance of losing a disc off most of the tees, so would highly recommend spotters for just about every hole. The views of Mt Hood are spectacular, and the scenery is also a good change up from a lot of the other courses in Portland area. The course is easy to navigate on first play through with the exception of hole 4. Worth playing if your in the area, but not the kind of course worth making the trip for.

Cons:

10-18. I understand that this being on a mountain, you have to come down so your options are limited. However i think the Zig-Zag option down the mountain was a terrible choice. It's boring, overgrown, and losing discs is deceptively easy in the fairway shrubbery. Also watch out for the mountain bikers. Not as much a con as it is a noticeable hindrance.

Other Thoughts:

$7 per person. per person. per person. Make sure that's clear to everyone you're playing with before heading out. Otherwise you'll get to listen to "i cant believe i had to pay $7 blah blah blah" all the way down.

I never Payed to play 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 18, 2005 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Ride a lift up, throw a disc down! Ski resort courses are awesome!

Cons:

I wrote this review, then discovered the course has been completely relocated and improved since my last review. sorry, cant delete review.

Other Thoughts:

You can snowboard at Timberline all summer and play disc golf after a day on the slopes!
Ski Bowl has other fun activities like Alpine Slide, Zip-Line, Go-Carts, and Mini golf. So ditch the family and play a round of disc!

Crazy 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 18, 2007 Played the course:never

Pros:

Rocky course through a few trees. A little bit of thought went into it but, the options are limited being a snow resort.

Cons:

The dust that kicks up just walking around the place. Check your socks.

Other Thoughts:

Try to bring your own discs but, they do have rentals.
