Pleasantly suprised 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 17, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

I went into this course not really expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised by a layout that was fun and challenging.

There was a variety of shots that test your accuracy. From Straight to Anny to Hyzer this course was well balanced

A few open holes thrown in to keep you honest.

Water hazard on 16 was pretty darn sweet and the locals are very good about returning discs.

The Owner is a really cool guy.
Lots of elevation changes.

Cons:

Teepads are kinda small

A few Plinko fairways where it's more luck than hitting a line. (17 comes to mind)

Navigation would be a pain without a guide. Defiantly play here with someone who knows the course.

Distances on the tee were not always accurate because of a redesign

Other Thoughts:

I went into this course with low expectations and I was very surprised by what it turned out to be. Had the homegrown feel and the course was very fun to play.

If you are in the Thomasville area looking to play defiantly give "Concrete" a call so you can get out to Old Plank!

Homegrown course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 3, 2010 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great wooded shots really test skill and patience.
Couple huge bombs including one 450+ shot over a large valley.
Great course owner, Eric "Concrete Dude" is a great guy.
Excellent stop on the Homegrown tour.
Elevation changes are very neat on this course.

Cons:

If you don't know this course, don't play blind.
This course is incredibly hard to navigate, holes have been changed out recently and several teepads now have no baskets to them.
Speaking of the teepads, they are very narrow and scary to run up on.

Other Thoughts:

Several hanging baskets are really fun to play on.
PAY THE MONKEY before you throw hole 8 I think it is!

Great Hidden Little Gem! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 10, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Privately owned and maintained.

Great game play with a wide variety of shots. Won't tire your arm quickly.

A couple of great long shots including a 630 ft toss.

Cons:

Some holes not numbered.

Two or three holes had only rubber mats to throw from.

Couple of hanging baskets. While not a show-stopper it could be difficult for someone who uses the basket pole as a point of reference.

Other Thoughts:

Overall excellent course with great variety in shots. Most shots are in wooded areas. The owner of the course is a nice guy and it shows that a lot of time and effort went into making this a great course to play on. I thoroughly enjoyed the 20 holes offered. I'd like to see hole 19 reversed so that you would need to take a mandatory shot over the abandon car.
