10 years is a long time

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 11, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

back to 9 DGA Mach II baskets
Some tee signs/posts
Most holes had cement tee pads with the sponsor etched into them.
You can camp right next to the course for just $10

Cons:

Nothing marking hole 5 tee box.
Signs have seen better days

Other Thoughts:

I did not read the reviews on this course.
I feel like most of them were when the course was in disrepair with missing baskets.

Well, I played it this week, cement tee pads on most of the holes, all the baskets were there. I actually enjoyed my round.

I also happen to camp in the RV spot right next to hole 1 and basket 9 for the night. That was super cool, set up my tent then played a quick round before it got dark and I went to bed.

7 of the holes throw though large trees, but have fair fairways.

3 of the holes I would consider totally open shots.

The course is not long, it's a pitch and putt. But then I LOVE these types of courses.

I think hole 5 is marked wrong on the popular app, it has you teeing off from a dirt road next to basket 5. I personally would have pushed the tee back to a flat area next to the pond making a water carry shot for right handers. Yea, this throws over a makeshift pavilion, but it wound have been a decent hole when it was not in use.

Would I play here again? Actually if I was driving though, I might. Like I stated above, this is a decent little small town course. Yea, it needs some work, but at least the course was well mowed, it still had all 9 baskets and 7 tee pads. (hole 6 still had the OG tee pad you can see in the old pictures)

So yes, I think this course is very underrated at the moment. For a 9 hole small town course, I rate it a strong 3, almost 3.5. it's better than what the other reviews lead you to believe.

Not much fun. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 5, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Great potential as a challenging course. Lots of mature trees. Plenty of trash cans and well marked restroom, playground for kids.

Cons:

The tees are well marked, some baskets are missing, and of those which are there, some of the numbers are missing from the baskets. Spent a great deal of time trying to figure out which basket went with which tee as a result of these issues. The grass is unkept, so it is difficult to see where the discs fall.

Other Thoughts:

If the park ever gets the baskets put in and gets the grass mowed, this could be a very fun course.

Pros:

Potential.
Nice pleasant area.
Trashcans.
Restrooms.
Mature trees.

Cons:

Multiple baskets missing.
Signs of vandalism.

Other Thoughts:

I contacted the city and they're raising funds to replace the missing holes and re-do the course. I'm on their mailing list and will update here when the course is done.

This Course is Unplayable 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 14, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Great potential with such a nice park with big cottonwood trees.

Cons:

All of the holes except 1,2,7,8, and 9 are missing. The baskets have been broken off from their bases and are missing more than likely because of vandals. Someone had just been whipping cookies in the park where the disc golf course was before we had got there. This course would be worth the drive again if they ever fixed the course.

Other Thoughts:

In its current state this course is dead.

A Mini Getaway Place 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 2, 2008 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

I did like this course. It had cement tee pads and the baskets were in great shape. The holes were laid out in such a way with the big old trees of this park, that you need both technical and accurate throws to do well. It did have bathrooms and trashcans. Safety wise, I don't see an issue; it is kind of mini getaway place from where other people are.

Cons:

There is a pond on this course, but it really doesn't come into play. You will need to keep your eye on your disc, as the grass is not mowed much and there were lots of leaves on the ground. The tee pads were an ok length, but very narrow.

Other Thoughts:

Fun factor is pretty good. I liked the touch type holes where you are navigating direction and speed around trees. It was an overall good course out in the middle of Nebraska. I would play it again if in the area.
