Pros:

-Long holes for a 9 hole course.
-Good beginner course

Cons:

-some holes are next to a parking lot or side streets where there is traffic. Also a basketball court and volleyball court can get busy with targets, sorry i mean people so watch out!

-Can get busy

nice, fun little niner 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 8, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

-concrete pads, decent signage, bag hangers on almost all tee sign posts.
-great use of small space. The course is pretty hilly and the designer used the elevation quite well, there are a lot of downhill shots, fewer uphills, and some of the greens are nice fall away type greens.
-Some variety of shots, a lot of straight shots but some left to right shots, and one or two right to lefts.
-Girls, girls, girls...the views are very nice.

Cons:

-SUPER busy, the course is in the green space by the dorms so you pretty much wait for at least 1 or 2 groups per hole.
-A lot of non discers and the course plays over a voleyball court, so there is a lot of potential for shots to be dangerous.
-Some of the holes are ridiculously short for example hole 1 is like 130' ft uphill with nothing in front of it. 9 is kind of pointless too, 230' downhill wide open.
-Parking is a bit ambiguous, so park on the west side of the dorms, and start on hole 8.

Other Thoughts:

I think this course does it's intended job which is a fun course for the dorm residents, it is by no means tough, but it does have some fun downhill shots. I'd proobably pass on this one for everwood, if I only had time for 1 course, but I certainly wouldn't skip it if I had time.

First experience with Disc Golf 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 17, 2003 Played the course:once

Pros:

- 15 steps outside my dorm ;-)
- Uses the natural elevation and surrounding trees to provide a challenge on a small course
- Well marked tees make it clear where you are throwing.
- Bathrooms, water fountains, vending machines in Linc/Wash building right behind course

Cons:

- Can be crowded with people walking through, laying out reading, etc.
- A/C Unit enclosure in play on hole 9 has eaten many a disc. If you lose the disc, you have to wait for maintenance to come out on to get it.
- Parking lot in play on hole 8, bad shots could hit cars

Other Thoughts:

This course was my very first introduction to the sport of disc golf! Unfortunately, the course went in right before I graduated, but for a few months, it was very nice to step out of my door right onto the course. Well designed, the course plays a natural "valley" on campus and winds through existing trees to make for a challenging short course. When I was on campus, discs were available for rent at the Linc/Wash information desk with a student ID, making it a great course to bring someone new with to introduce the game. Recommended for anyone that finds themselves in Macomb with a few hours free.

Pros:

Convenient location in the heart of campus. Enough trees and hills to provide a challenging course. Plenty of parking if you have a Q-lot sticker or are from out of town and don't plan on registering your license (in other words they can't issue city tickets so you don't have to pay WIU if you get one). Holes transition smooth and tee maps make navigation easy. Hole 9 meets back with hole 1, so you can begin your circuit anywhere. Lounge, restrooms, and vending close by in Lincoln Washington buildings (1st hole).

Cons:

Only 9 holes and can be busy at certain times of day. Tees are made of cobblestone which are slippery when wet even from dew. There is a giant cooling unit to the right of the pin on 9th hole where many have lost discs. Parking lot imposes slightly on 8th hole. Watch for students who shortcut across course, you could hit them or they could steal your disc and dash or both. Only selective parking available.

Other Thoughts:

Course is short enough to get two rounds in just over 30 minutes! (between class recreation)
