Surprisingly fun 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 6, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ Requires some shot shaping to score well
+ Good variety in hole shapes
+ Good flow hole to hole
+ Concrete Tees
+ Good signage

Cons:

- 7 of the holes are sub 250'
- If it has rained much lately it could be very wet

Other Thoughts:

A great course to get a quick round in or to introduce someone to the sport. I had a good time even though it is a shorter course. I really liked the hole where you could throw over the top of some shorter trees. There are just enough trees to force some different shaped shots.

The playground equipment referenced in other reviews has been removed.

Fun when not wet 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 16, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Ace runs here!
-Nice baskets
-Decent signage, simple but gets the job done at this city park
-Tees are concrete and very functional for this course
-A few interesting holes, One between two lines of trees, one over some shorter bushy trees, some more open bomber holes. A few holes you need to shape a line but others you have many choices. There is a good variety in distance here. Like I said, many holes can be aced but hole 3 is way out there from the tee. It is open so you have your option on how to get there.
-Good for beginners or just getting a quick round in.
-Other than the water, this park is nicely mowed, maintained and picked up. No garbage here.

Cons:

-Other than the few interesting holes the other are flat and not too challenging.
-This course is right next to a river and floods often. It may be unplayable for part of the spring. When not flooded, silt is left on the tees and grass.
-This course could be dangerous if there were other disc golfers or park users around. The park area is not very large. Luckily, the waterslide just down the street was drawing a lot of the local kids.

Other Thoughts:

This is a good use of a floodplain type city park. There are a few interesting holes interspersed with a few average ones. If you are in the area, you might as well play here because it won't take long but don't go out of your way for this one.

Decent quick 9 hole course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 23, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

Decent variety. Several holes around 200 feet, a couple near 300 and hole 3 is 400 some feet. Several holes have some lines required, with accuracy rewarded on hole 9 - an alley shot through the trees.

Tee pads. Concrete tees on each hole is always a nice benefit on a course like this.

Signage. Each tee is marked with a map of the hole, distance, hole number and par.

Clean well maintained park.

Not busy. I saw a handful of people playing the course, and a father/son using the playground equipment, but it was not crowded by any means.

Ace opportunities. Every hole (less 3) has a possible ace run with a likely birdie opportunity if well played.

The water is not permanent. The casual standing water provided an additional challenge that I enjoy, hole 3 ended up being an awesome "island hole" despite having to play it barefoot, it would be a sweet layout to the course.

Cons:

Playground. The course plays right through the middle of playground equipment, though some of it looks cool - like the rocket slide, it could be dangerous if there was anybody using the equipment.

Wet. The low areas can be quite wet after a rain, I had to play holes 3 and 4 barefoot, several other holes had standing water.

Small. A relatively small area houses this course, several of the holes are close to each other, could be dangerous if there was many people playing.

Other Thoughts:

An enjoyable quick 9 holes worth a stop if you're nearby, I wouldn't drive more than 10 miles out of the way for this one.
