My Opinion on Alymer 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 23, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

It was a very nice looking well maintained course, no real tall grass or bush to look thru. Clean. I cam in from wrong side and had to figure out where hole one was.

Cons:

In a public day use park, there where kids everywhere, there is a play area for little kids and covered areas for people eating. This is way to busy a park for a course. Nice to work on puts but I would not even attempt the drives, dont make a special long trip to play.

Other Thoughts:

It was nice to see a new course but far to many people and different activities going on at once here. Sorry

Pros:

Nice little 9 hole course is a beautiful town park. The little available space is used quite well. Most of the shots are short to medium in length. This is a great course to get new players hooked and for locals.

There are small wooden tee signs on every hole and the course layout is fairly easy to navigate. Water comes into play on 3 or 4 holes if you overshoot the pin.

Cons:

I couldn't find the tee sign for hole 8 when I was there, so I just threw from next to the skate park.

You have to throw across the walking path on 3 or 4 holes. There was a good amount of foot traffic in the park so please watch out for people.

The tee signs don't have the distance or illustration of the hole on them.

There isn't a lot of shot variety here. Hole 1 is an anhyzer shot but the rest of the holes are straight to hyzer shots.

Other Thoughts:

It was a fun course to play, I used it as warm up before playing Lake Whittaker just a few minutes away. Like most 9 hole courses, you won't find a challenge here and I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to play the course.

If you're looking for a challenge go to St. Thomas and play Waterworks or VA Berrie.
