A Conservative Conservation Area 2+ years drive by

Pros:

Great layout for the most part, utilizing as much of the land as possible. Dual tees on 90% of the holes and good signage throughout. Natural tees are in good condition but I have a feeling this course isn't played very much :)
Navigation is fairly easy with only holes 9 & 10 tucked outside of the norm. It is easy to walk right to 11 after #8...
Most shots are wide open, with the rough being tall grass lining either side of the fairway. Tough to lose a disc, but keep an eye as it falls.
The big pros here are the trio of shots mid-way through the round. #8 is slightly downhill and a bit long, allowing you to really let it rip over the grassland. While wide open, the approach is tricky as the basket sits about 15 feet in front of a stone wall sectioning off the lake. Also a great view to take in. #9 is on the other side of the damn, which you throw off of and into the corresponding valley. About 450 from the pro tee, it is a nice rip. Be wary if your disc falls along the dam wall, as loose boulders stack up. This is tricky but also makes for an awesome upshot/birdie op. #11 is another long one, I think about 600 ft. or so, and has a lot of smallish trees dotting the landscape. There is no "fairway", but rather several options to choose from depending on where you land. #8 is by far the prettiest hole and 9&10 break up the monotony.
Also worth mentioning is #16, a nice play under a canopy of mature trees.

Cons:

A lot of static shots exist here. Beyond the four holes I mention above, most others simply have fairways mowed through crotch-high grassland. I couldn't understand why the grass was so high, either. It was literally up to my hips on several holes.
There isn't much elevation change either and as a result about half of the holes give you a sense of deja-vu.
Line shaping is nearly non-existent due to the wide open prairie this course plays through, although a few shots have large trees and bushes that you have to account for.
Despite being relatively clean, there weren't very many amenities about. I can only recall maybe one or two benches, and not one trash can was to be found. I have a feeling the cleanliness has more to do with lack of use than anything else.

Other Thoughts:

This is a fine course in a campground and is very well maintained. It is nice for beginners but offers very little challenge for the more advanced. Going into it, I wasn't sure what to expect, but coming out my inner DGer felt satisfied. While this course was fine to play, if I am ever in the area again I will probably forgo Pittock for others in the London area.
P.S. There were no pics on the site so I uploaded a bunch to give others a feel for the course.

Fun Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 13, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

Holes 1-4 and 16-18 are very pleasant and relatively technical through the trees. The other holes are longer and more open but make good use of terrain.

Cons:

Narrow fairways mowed through long grass on many holes makes for a high risk of lost discs. Spotters recommended.

Other Thoughts:

I found the 500' uphill slog on hole 10 unpleasant but I suppose you have to thow a bone to the grip'n'rip types occasionally.
