Nice Campground Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 10, 2010 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Nice campground with plenty of good sites, right on Sugar Creek! Play right on to the course from many campsites. Some water, mostly open a few trees and man made obstacles. Nice course for the whole family to play. Deuce or die for experienced players!

Cons:

Fairly open, wish it had more trees and some more terrain. Might there be some more acres to open up?

Other Thoughts:

If you want to go to nice campground and have at a family friendly disc golf course available to play, this will fit the bill. Nearby Milligan Park can offer advanced players more of a challenge.

Decent campground course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 23, 2009 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

The course plays through a grassy flat area surrounding a small creek and a pond. There are some nice areas with stands of trees to avoid on a couple holes, and a couple more that play near brushy rough. There are a few holes where water comes into play and adds some challenge, with the creek near a basket, and a couple holes where the lake comes into play.

There are 9 baskets in good shape, and two sets of tees. The tees were grass, but were level and in good shape for the most part. The two sets of tees are differentiated by color, the 4x4 posts marking one set is white while the other set is yellow.

Cons:

The course tries to take advantage of the water and trees available, but the space around the campground just wasn't interesting enough to put in a really special course. There are 3-4 interesting holes, and the rest are quite boring flat open holes.

The two sets of tees don't really change anything, you can take the same line from both tees on all the holes, with only minor differences in distances and angles. There is no information on the tees other than hole number, I like to at least see hole distance. The grass tees were pretty muddy even though the grass was in good shape, if this course gets much play at all the tees could go downhill fast.

Other Thoughts:

As a fun campground activity, this course is perfect. There are some challenges for new players, but no forced water carries, and not much distance. More experienced players won't find much here to challenge them, though you could make up some excellent safari holes around the pond.

Don't go out of your way to play this one, but if you need a place to stay for the night, it's a decent campground with a nice easy round right onsite.
