East Park DGC plays in a city park on the north side of Creco, IA. The course works around the baseball field which dominates the park. An Eagle Scout project that suffers from the area it was given to work with. The big downside is the hazards. Hole #1 (the only one over 300') tees down along the ball field where it seems most parents park for games (there was one going on while we were there). #3 goes up along the right field fence to just past the scoreboard (which I didn't miss by much). #5 pitches back down toward center field, so watch an over throw or it may go over the fence. #7 pitches over a shelter (for RHBH) and is a tad blind. #8 and #9 play close enough to the playground that errant children may come into play. It didn't help that it was a very busy park the night we played, but the hazards added up quickly. The pads are small, trapezoidal, and right next to the previous basket. The tee sign is a full map with the next hole in red on top of each basket (i.e. Hole #4 tee sign on top of #3 basket). Chains are rusty on most of the baskets. A quick play, but unless the park is quiet, a potentially dangerous one. I will probably not play here again.

First things first, this is not a destination course. That being said, if you are in the area, by all means play it. This is an excellent spot to work on your short game and it would be a very non-frustrating course for beginners and kids.
This was an Eagle Scout project and I think as far as making your community a better place, this hits the nail on the head. Anything that brings disc golf to an under-served community (Next course 15 miles away) is a great thing in my book.

- Love the idea of having a map posted on the top of every basket. Very nice!
- Well-maintained and cared for park...you can tell a lot of time/love went into the end product.

- Could not locate the tee for Hole 1, even though the map showed it right behind the large sign for the course.
- Tees are way, WAY too close to the previous hole's basket! Within 10-15 feet, in most cases.
- Holes are tremendously short, except for Holes 1 and 3.

It was a fun little course to practice on. However, the community of Cresco is going to have a lot of trouble with the current course design if the sport catches on a little more in popularity around town. Flow will be a problem, as will safety for players. Also, I'm only an Intermediate player...and had I not misfired on two tee shots on two holes per round I played, 18-19 shots was definitely possible. As it was, I had to settle for 20 and 20. Too, too easy.

Very well maintained course. Baskets in great condition. Short holes, big chance for an ace. Great signage, clearly marked holes with very accurate maps. Par is weird, seven of the holes are par 2 with distances under 190 ft, one par 3 that is around 250-300 ft, one par 4 that was around 380 feet.

Too short is the biggest complaint. All the holes are so short, you can play the round in under 30 minutes, and that is an overestimate. The par 2s are really weird, sort of a novelty. Tee box area is right next to the basket, pretty much you play basket to basket, which is nice because you know where the next tee is but also that means people are tossing right at. Narrow fairways and through a park, 9 holes condensed into pretty much one or two square blocks. Course plays around a baseball diamond and its pretty easy to land in. Tee boxes are grass for the most part, but you won't need to really get a big wind up for the drives. The only hole that would benefit from a tee box has one.

Great chances for an ace and the course is obviously well funded. If you are in the area definitely play a round, but not something you would really want to go out of your way to play. The first hole is pretty cool, long open toss downhill.
