The eighteen holes are a good mix of wooded and open. The course is usually not busy.

You have to walk across the entire campus to get from the 18th basket back to the parking area for the first tea. Playing the back nine only avoids a long walk to get back to the car. A couple of wooded holes are incredibly narrow - with pricker bushes in the rough. Lots of growth in the wooded holes needs to be cleared out.

This course is a bit frustrating. If the goal of a college course is to encourage students to get out and move, this course will just leave them frustrated. There are too many blind shots with extremely narrow wooded fairways and overgrown rough. It's as if the designer wanted the course to be for very experienced players and not more casual college students. The holes on the back-nine that are in a field are much more forgiving and well maintained.

- well integrated into existing trails and spaces, seems like it didn't have a huge environmental impact
- concrete teepads on every hole, some even have hole number and distance
- a few really demanding tunnel shots in the woods
- a great mix of super tight woods holes on the shorter side and long wide open bombers
- some really well guarded greens that will require parking it or putting around obstacles
- the best basket to next tee flow I've seen at any course. For at least half of the holes the next tee is within 50 ft of the basket. Almost every hole has a sign pointing to the next tee as well.
- most memorable hole to me was a 230 ft par 4 (yes you read that right). Crazy small gaps and a super steep upslope easily made this a two shot hole. Had a really cool par 5 in there as well.
- plenty of parking at hole 1 and hole 18
- back 9 is more open and longer and front 9 is tight and woodsy so if you have a preference for either one you can just play that 9 twice.
- even in late fall the course was super well maintained, well mowed fairways and groomed trails
- just a really scenic course, especially the hilly back 9. A great variety of trees and plants and elevation.

- for the front 9 especially it's almost impossible to see the basket on most holes. First timers will have to walk the hole and then come back (even with the Udisc map).
- A couple of holes that seem more predicated on luck than skill as the gap is so small (hole 9 comes to mind)
- a couple of really lopsided baskets that look like they've taken a beating, a tree possibly fell on them
- doesn't make a ton of sense the course starts and ends on opposite edges of campus. Either way you'll have to do some walking.
- 444ft par 3 was a bit of a head scratcher for me... Really demanding placement on tee shot to have a look at a super well guarded green. Felt like a pro level hole.
- hole numbers and distances are mostly faded from the concrete teepads. It's only there on a handful of holes. Hole maps and tee signs would go a long way in helping out first timers to the course.

**FYI--the school is now Northern Vermont University and not Lyndon State College! Could be helpful when navigating to the course...**

Woods golf at it's finest! Or close to it... Had a great time with this course, make sure your scramble game, putting and laser beam straight shots are on point. I found myself attempting very ambitious patent pending approaches on most holes just to try and save par. Mid ranges and putters will get you through the hole front 9 (maybe use a distance driver on hole 1 and 9) while the back 9 requires a ton of length. For a student designed course this was honestly pretty incredible! Would love to come back and give it another try as I started well and had a total meltdown on the back 9. O haven't really played many courses in the area so I don't know how it stacks up but I really do recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Well marked tees with distance and par. Long and short holes in a variety of locations (wooded and open) which required a variety of shots. Holes are well separated from each other so you cover a lot of ground. This course is for advanced players, which allows you to use all your discs and all your shots.

Disc golf course was hard to find. The baskets were not visible from the tees so you had to walk down the fairways to see them. The rough was very dense in spots, which included prickers, dense thin trees, downhill slopes, and thick tall grass.

This is definitely not a course for beginners or first time players, but a fun play for players with experience. There is a high probability of losing a disc if you throw outside the fairway. Back 9 have an amazing view of the mountains, which adds to the experience.

Nice boxes and tees. Lots of shot variety. Well-maintained course that is very difficult to master.

Lots of luck is involved in getting a great score. Some holes do not really have much of a path to follow. Some channels need to be widened to encourage precise shots. Multiple tees would make this course much more fair for novice players!

Add some multiple tees, clear out a couple of trees, add a walkway or two, and this course could really flourish. Too much trash on site as well. Bring a bag and you can make a $1 in cans and bottles at the Redemption Center on your way home...

It is a disc golf coarse with new pins and platforms

-It is not disigned well
-Some holes are hard to find (no maps)
-There is extreamly thick grass around all feild holes except #1 and if you are un lucky enough to get the disc in there, you will never find it
-The mosquitos are terrible
-Alot of the holes are disigned so that your throw will either be lucky or unlucky and can leave you thinking WTF
-The trail to the next hole for some is unexplained and confusing

If you are feeling lucky you may as well buy a lottery ticket in stead of loosing 15$ in plastic
I played in a group of 3. We all lost a disc

The great holes on this course are wonderful, memorable, challenging, beautiful, and make you want to play 'em more.

A great use of the land provided in terms of stringing together 18.

Miss Lyndonville Diner is probably the most exciting thing about playing this course.

- I feel like i've been playing disc golf enough to know the difference between a challenging shot and blind stupid luck. If you want to try your luck, i suggest buying loto tickets down the street somewhere.

- The majority of the holes play like 2/3 things are always obnoxious about it. If you look at a hole like a drive, an up shot, and a putt then you should expect saying "WTF?" on 2 of those 3 factors on the majority of the holes. Either the tee shot is beautiful, you land perfect and have no idea what to do next, or you don't have a tee shot, or the tee placement is the worst possible location to take advantage of a great hole.

- a lot of travel without guidance between holes.

Keep 5 or 6 holes and rethink the rest of the course.

I really like this course. It really needs you to have a variety of shots but focuses on control. Only a couple holes have any real distance to them. The new Tee Pads are great.

This course has a lot of shots that require a good bit of luck to really pay off. You can feel pretty wonderful or pretty terrible after your tee shot. I love this for the good days but hate it for the bad days. Depends on how your day went.
Long walk back to the car at the end of your round.
Baskets could use some color to make them a little easier to see from the tee.

Hole 7 can be a lot of fun once you master the line.
Hole 14 is a narrow tunnel that makes a perfect throw real rewarding. On the flip side if your disc goes off course the bounces could take it anywhere.
Hole 18 seems to always have some wind that does strange things to your drive.

-Excellent variety of holes. wooded and open, left and right dog legs, BIG up and down elevation changes.

-The course is pretty challenging, but still fun for beginners

-good tee pads and baskets

-Beautiful views of surrounding mountains

-There are a couple holes where tree positions leave you with little options for a good line to the basket

-Needs more signs indicating next hole and hole layout

-Having the last hole so far away from the first is a little awkward but not a big deal.

This course is like going on a short mountain hike. It's challenging and fun. More courses should be an adventure like this. Playing this course every day would keep me in shape!

I played this course again recently and they have added tee pads and it was much better maintained compared to last time (mowed grass and cleared brush). I really enjoy this adventuresome course!

the course is very divers in the difficulty of holes, the front nine are very technical, if playing with two people have one down course as a spotter, or a Lab that can find your Disc for you. Second Nine is fields or in an old tree farm that you can practice your long shot.

It would be nice if the baskets were colored, hard to see, 12th-14th hard to follow if you don't know the course, baskets are hidden.

This was a great place to install a course.
The terrain and the scenery is simply amazing. There are newer baskets.
A nice safe setting.
Plenty of room to expand in the future.

Whoever designed this course has probably played very little to absolutely no disc golf in their life. On the front nine there are several holes that are extremely poorly thought out. There are many better basket placements available on the front nine that would offer much better challenge, and play ability. There were three or four holes that were unrealistic, and just plain stupid. On the back nine there were four holes that were just grip and rip boring holes. Hole fourteen was one of those awesome tree tunnel shots that you dream about.

Do not drive a long way to play here. You will not be totally disappointed, but you will not think it was worth it. Someone who is familiar with the game of disc golf should help re-design this course and make it into a top notch course. Also the weeds and undergrowth needs to be chopped down especially by the baskets. It is just plain irritating to not be able to find your disc when it is three feet from the pin.

Also you have to walk about twenty to twenty five minutes to get back to your car after finishing 18. What a drag!

This course has good hole diversity as far as wooded, open, and elevation.

This course is new and needs some tweaking. Some holes have unrealistic fairways and are not fun to play. Most of the holes are exceptional otherwise.

The tees need some kind of permanent fix before they become mud pitts. To me tee pads are extremely important as far as safety goes.

Lyndon is a great addtion to the growing number of Vermont courses. With age and continued work and play from local enthousiasts this course will only get better.

Each hole after you have played it once or twice becomes something you want to master. I enjoy each hole because none of them are the same. There are some great down hill throws that if thrown just right your disc will sail out of sight and you will be shocked to find it close to the basket.

In the early spring and summer the bugs are heavy

I helped build this course, I enjoy hole two the best. You can use either all the discs in your bag to go for a great score or you can just use an ultimate disc and have some fun!

Hard work evident in well thought out and clean fairways. If you pure your shot, you are typically rewarded with a short putt. Not a bunch of random trees=no penalty for good shots

hole 5 can get pretty wet on the left side of the fairway and last year at least, the gap to the green was pretty vaguely defined and frustrating

From the pictures on this site, the course looks like it's just getting better and broken in. When I played it last, the grass was super long and disc locating could be difficult. Love hole 2 and believe I own the first ace on the course, I hit it before the tee signs were up

Free to play, awesome tee box signage, great use of elevation changes, awesome views on the back nine , some holes are not too brutal while others are frustrating because of difficulty.

Some excessive brush here and there. Baskets can be hard to find if you are new to the course. It appears the power company or someone did some major clearing and cutting between holes 6-8...there are some logs and brush to deal with on the sides but it is not too bad.

This is an excellent course and one that I play almost everyday. Because I have played this course, many other courses now seem very easy (even some that big tournaments are held at), This course is simply addicting and requires multiple skills and shot mastery in order to score well....my personal best as of now is 3 over par (30) for the front nine and 3 over par for the back nine and 8 over par for 18 holes played all at once....the back nine is broken in nice with mowed fairways, excellent signage and once again the views are amazing.

Free! Tee spots and trails are not hard to find. Nice brand new baskets. Nice view of the green mountains. Very challenging course, bring all of your shots! Nice tee off signs. Nice map that is helpful.

The baskets are very hard to see, so you have to walk out and find the basket before each tee shot which is annoying. Only problem is you don't end where you start, but this might be for expanding at a later date.

When you enter the parking lot for the Rita Bole Complex, take a right and drive straight and park in one of the spaces. The First tee should be right in front of you. With a rules sign. This is a very challenging course and makes you use all of your shots. This course has neat tee's and nice baskets. All holes are par 3. Nice mix of holes, and a lot of fun.

Hole 1 - This hole starts off shooting over what looks like an old pond or something. A huge fairway and no trees. Basket is across the field by a pine tree. Might be hard to find if you don't know what you are looking for.

Hole 2 - This hole shoots down hill into the second opening. Basket is tucked away about 20 or so feet in, you can't see it from the tee. There are quite a few trees and a hill behind the basket area.

Hole 3 - This hole shoots down hill off the tee you can see the whole fairway, basket is at the end to the left. A tee shot going left or right could really mess you up.

Hole 4 - To get to hole 4, walk back up the 3 fairway 15 feet and there is a trail leading to the 4th. This hole is located not up the main fairway you can see from the tee, but up the steep hill to the left ¾ of the way to the top of the main fairway. First shot will land on the main part of the fairway, next shot has to go up the really steep bank to the left and the hole is located at the top. Large hill to the left of the basket your disc will most likely get lost if it goes down there.

Hole 5 - A few trees right in front of the tee. Basket is straight away under some big trees. There is a big drop off to the right of the basket that will eat your disc right up.

Hole 6 - Hole 6 is very shot, but there are a few trees that make it very hard to get around. Basket in the middle of tall grass and trees that go around it.

Hole 7 - This is a hard dogleg to the left, with tons of trees around. You will see the line that people use (very small and hard to hit) Hitting trees on this hole will most likely happen. Basket is tucked away in a small opening.

Hole 8 - Just like hole 7, a lot of trees. If you find the right line and hit this you are doing good. Hitting a tree is a given. Hole is a dogleg right that sits on the top of a huge hill with nothing around it. Once you get out of the wooded part over shooting this pin will cost you big time.

Hole 9 - To get there, from the 8th hole, with your back to the opening where you came out of from the 8th woods, look to your left and cross the road. This Tee is located by an entrance sign to the college, you cant miss it. The hole is located past the big tree in the middle of the fairway at the top of the hill. This hole is uphill the whole way.

To get back to your car, walk the 3rd base side of the soft ball field and when you reach the end of the fence you should be able to see the parking lot down the hills to your left. Walk in a direct line to the lot you will pass over a small bridge and through the ropes course then you will end up on the 1st holes fairway back to your car.


After a nice round of disc golf go into town and find the Miss Lyndonville dinner located on main street. Best food you will ever eat in your life!!! Be sure not to speed in town. (the cops are mean here)
