This is a small 9 hole course with some fun, short holes. Good for beginners, but also fun for Intermediate players as well.
Some interesting lines and window shots right off of tees #2, 5, and 8. Great course to practice your approaches and short game on, with one 400ft uphill hole (#4) that can be a bit dicey when the wind picks up.

-Good signage for each hole

As mentioned in previous reviews, this course was built in a drainage area for a housing development, so the fairway for 3, basket for 6 and teepad for 7 stay pretty soggy. Watch your step!

-chains are completely rusted out, some of them are busted and hanging down. Need to be replaced.

-some of the baskets are starting to lean due to poor installation/ground sinkage. Course is managed by the city of Georgetown, which also manages San Gabriel and Rivery Park disc golf courses, which are in great condition. Seems like they just forgot about this one.

-Teepads are crushed stone with railroad ties on the front and sides. They've started to sink down, which can make your run-up a little tricky. If there's been any recent rain, the teepads are probably going to be really muddy.

This is a nice 9 hole course to have in your rotation, just to keep things fresh if you live in the Georgetown area. If I lived in this housing development, I'd probably be out there every day, just to work on my short game and putting.

But if you're just passing through, give it a miss. There are far better courses to play in the Georgetown/Round Rock area if you're on limited time.

Pinnacle Peak Park is one of these new development parks. Do you ever notice had these new development parks are never busy and old time city parks are constantly filled with people. Part of the problem probably comes from the fact that they've developed a park like this in an area with two water retention ponds. I think they will always be wet and soggy.

The new park does have a wonderful looking swimming pool, a nice kiddie play area and BB courts.

The course has these nice colored tee signs. The tee pads are bordered on three sides with railroad ties. I think grass and weeds are starting to take over from the gravel fill. The baskets are Discatchers with the yellow band but many of them having rusty chains which makes them look old and ugly. Question? When you order baskets, do you pay for different quality of chains? Why have these rusted so early on?

# 1 requires a very low drive or possibly a tomahawk over the top. It's 170'.

# 2 is 260' but a neighbor's fence is close. If anyone ever plays here, this yard would be an absolute disc magnet. With enough play, they could open a used disc business.

# 3 plays 223' across the first drainage basin. Throw short and your shoes will get soaked. Throw long and you might cross a barbed wire fence and end up in the soup.

4 is 383' uphill but not to the basket straight away, that's # 5. The # 4 basket is more left.

# 5 is a little 177' Ace Run.

# 6 is a slight open, downhill throw iof 245'.

Throwing out of he wet basin area is # 7. It's a 259' throw up the basin hillside.

# 8 is a 119' Ace Run with just one small tree to get around.

And finally, # 9 is a 168' throw through some trees and bushes.

Signs missing on 2 & 7.

Rusty chains look crummy.

The problem on hole 2 with the neighbor's fence would be a huge problem if this course ever received much play.

I don't much like the tee pads. They're kind of an eyesore.

This course will always be wet and boggy.

No wow factor here.

Some design issues should have been recognized early before the baskets were put in be ground. The # 2 basket could have been placed farther away from the fence. The # 3 basket doesn't have to be that close to the barbed wire fence. Although this seems like a fine area to put a course, I think with the drainage issues, this isn't such an ideal location after all.

This is a small neighborhood park with 9 mostly short holes. The exception is the 400' uphill hole 4. Hole 6 is a short ace run downhill with tall, marshy grass behind and next to the basket and hole 7 goes back up the same hill but the tee has been swallowed by the aforementioned tall, marshy grass. Hole 2 plays next to a marshy area around a culvert and hole 3 plays directly across it with the basket perched on an small ridge.

I would love to have this course in my neighborhood but it's not the kind of course you should go out of your way to play. Also I'm really not a fan of framed natural tees but they're still mostly even since I'm sure this course sees fairly little traffic. It can't be worth playing here after a rain.

If you're looking for a quick round in Georgetown then San Gabriel Park is a better option, otherwise just head over to Rivery Park which is a fun 18 holes with a lot of cool land features.

Course was fully mowed and clean. Map of course on a sign right when you get into park. Attempted framed tee boxes that have potential to be better than just natural tees. Nice little park with amenities for children. Good beginner course that could be manageable for entry level players.

There are metal posts at every tee, but there are no signs. Not sure if signs have gone missing, or they have never been installed. Doesn't really affect the flow of the course, but doesn't help in determining distances.

Hole #1 is overgrown and virtually impossible to throw the intended line.

Hole #2 is visually appealing, but has a neighborhood fence line running up the right side of the fairway that could easily claim some discs on errant throw, or you could easily hit a house.

Hole #3 (for me) was tough cause I didn't know the distance and ended up long of the basket, only to discover there was a barbed wire fence long of the basket. Luckily I didn't cross it.

Hole #4 was a nice uphill long shot that would be tough to deuce.

Hole #5 was a short putter ace run.

Hole #6 was a cool looking downhill putter shot, but, if you overshot it, you would be in some pretty nasty, marshy looking drainage area.

Hole#7 I imagine would have been ok, but, like I had read, you could not get to the tee, which was located in the same marshy area.

Hole #8 actually had a line you needed to hit, however it was only like 100'.

Hole #9, again super short.

Park was in good shape when I visited, but looks like it could get brutal if not mowed.

Drainage areas on opposite ends of park could get nasty after rain, and may retain water for longer than it seems.

Park was located in a new looking subdivision off the beaten path, so, it seemed way underused.

This is a good 9 hole practice course. Has a couple decent elevation shots.

Really short course, almost all open holes. It seems as if it was always windy every time I played. Plus if it has rained from what observed and was also told by neighborhood regulars is that its just too muddy for a few days and you cant even get to a couple tee boxes because how muddy it is!

Only play if you are just learning and/or live in the area, other than that play Rivery if you're in the area!

Great map and signs. Easy to ace holes if you're desperate or if you're a beginner looking for an easy course. Enjoyable if its dry and you have had a really bad day of playing. This will lift your spirits.
Course design isn't awful. Just really easy.

Can't play 6 or 7 if it has rained. 3 is difficult after rain. Too easy. Some signs have been vandalized or are missing. Hole 4 is the longest and its also kind of hard to pick out. Not meant for seasoned players.

Leisurely disc golf. That is for sure. Fun for beginners or people begging for an ace.

Nice clean shots for the majority of the holes, and it's a pretty course to play. You can play driver or putter throughout the course, as most holes are fairly short.

Pinnacle turns into a swamp after it rains. The drainage is horrible, and I wouldn't suggest playing it at any times of the year aside from Summer and Fall.

Good for amateur and new players.

This course is a course that allows you to work on your overall game. easy shots, aces, hard shots, through the trees, and long/strategic shots, long throws-but not too long to overshoot. Had my best score there. This course will either make your day, or blow it.
I like the course and will be back.

Grass needs to be cut and drainage on 7 needs to be modified around tee box. Can anyone donate some granite gravel. Some of that drainage spills over onto the #6 green.

The Texas Junior Championships are being held there this saturday. The city of round rock needs to come cut the course. It is knee high and waist high grass on an adult, will lose children in some of the longer grass.

I would say five of the nine holes on this course would fall into the pitch and putt category. The other four holes have either trees, elevation change, distance or a combination of the three that creates a challenge. There are a couple of holes where the basket is on a pretty steep slope, which adds a risk if you "run it".

There is a large sign with a map at hole #1, although the course would be very easy to follow without a map because it's so small and open.

This is a super fast playing course which is good for a quick round when you don't have much time.

Hole #6 is the only one with much of a fun factor because it's about a 30' elevation drop.

The tee pads are timber framed and filled with crushed granite. The only benefit this provides over dirt is that they don't get muddy after a rain. The problem is that they are already becoming uneven and the gravel is slippery.

The entire course is covered with wild blackberries, thorns, and thistles. If you hit these just right they will stop your disc in it's tracks with no skip. It looks like the city of Georgetown is going to leave the DG part of the park in it's natural condition so this may always be a pretty thorny course. It's not that bad unless your'e wearing flip flops.

The #7 Tee Pad is in a flood prone area making it virtually unplayable for a few weeks after a heavy rain.

Hole # 9 is a little annoying because the tee pad is up by where the course should end and the basket is back down by the #1 basket.

This is a great course for newer players.
