Small town Dgc, i liked it 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 15, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Good signage at each tee box with map, distance, par. Also a map at hole 1. This signage is made to last too, it won't break or fade any time soon.
-Nice big concrete tees
-Nice new mach 3 baskets
-Good elevation for this part of the state
-Good variation in distance, only 2 of the holes were on the short side. Those two do make for good ace runs.
-Good layout, easy to follow, only one walk. Check map to see between 4 and 5.
-In a small town so shouldn't be busy
-Good for teaching new discers
-Located close to I29 and easy to find
-Garbage cans all over

Cons:

-Not a lot of trees
-Multi use park
-Windy
-Not challenging to the advanced players

Other Thoughts:

This course had a decent fun factor, i would recommend it to beginner to intermediate players. If you are traveling on 29 it would be a decent stop. I only got one 2 due to the wind but on a decent day you can get lots of 2's.

Pros:

- Concrete tees.
- Mowed and well kept park area.
- Nice baskets.

Cons:

- No signs.
- Not a lot of hazards.
- Some holes run very close to houses.

Other Thoughts:

Fun course and great for beginners. Fun and fast. I found a lightning disc marked as a P.E. disc! Exciting that they are educating the next generation about disc golf!

New Addition to the Neighborhood 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 8, 2009 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

All tees are cement and have very good signs as well. Easy course for a beginner to learn on and it makes a decent practice course as well for the locals. This course is on a new park so the trees are not matured yet, but once they grow it will add a little more challenge to some of the holes. The course makes good use of the land it is given to work with and offers some slight elevation change on a couple of the holes. Hole 1 in particular is quite fun as it is a downhill throw with the basket sitting on a mound-like area with the road as OB on the right, The added fence to the ball diamond in hole 4's fairway adds an OB factor to the hole which makes it more of a challenge now than just a wide open uphill shot that it originally once was.

Cons:

Because the park was built from the ground up it still feels a little too open, but that will change as the years go by and the trees begin to mature. Only one tee and pin placement per hole. There is risk of hitting a house on hole 1 and the picnic shelter near hole 6's fairway is sure to take a beating as well. The pin for hole 2 is sitting pretty close to the playground area so I'm sure there will be some kids ducking for cover once in a while.

Other Thoughts:

This course is a good addition for the small community in Baltic and offers enough to help new players learn as well as easy practice for seasoned players. The couple of times that I have played this course there was hardly anyone in the park so traffic between holes is not an issue.
