New course in a small town 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 9, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

The course layout was well thought out. All the drives are challenging and diverse. There is a mixture of hyzer and anhyzer fairways. Also, some good elevation change. There's a large lake in play on 2 or 3 holes.

Cons:

Play with a guide. I didn't find a course map, and the tee boxes and pins aren't marked as well as they could be. Some of the better features of the course aren't used in the fashion I would like to see. There's a large valley that is thrown over with no noticeable elevation change from the tee to pin. There isn't much shade on the course. No benches, trash cans, etc (very new course). Not a lot of parking, from what we saw, but it wasn't an issue the day we were there.

Other Thoughts:

This could be a really nice course with some work. Concrete tees, maps, trash barrels, benches ... a lot of little stuff. The park it's in is awesome, though. Definitely space for a full 18. I'm excited to see what this course ends up as.

Pros:

Having a course in the town

Cons:

Very hard to follow. Holes are not marked well. We had Boy Scouts out there on this day I was to confusing they gave up playing and went on the geocashing and maping was not a great way to get furture players going

Other Thoughts:

Needs to make the Tee boxs right and not by putting the holes sing next to the hole

Long Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 18, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

Most holes have plenty of open space on them. Holes are generally easy to locate. Beautiful setting by the lake and the woods.

Cons:

The tee markers are at the wrong locations. They actually tell the information about the hole you just played instead of the hole that you are playing next. So until you play the course once, it is hard to know the distances.

Other Thoughts:

I kind of enjoyed the course. It is great to get out and really rip on some drives. Most holes are 350 +.
