Two Hispanic guys were roaring around the park on a quad. It would have been pretty easy for them to come roaring over a hill blind and grease a baby in a stroller or a disc golfer. Where are the cops when you need them?

Condor Park is a typical city park with a fishing pond in the center. The catfish weren't biting.

The course starts by the picnic pavilion. There is a nice Kiwanis Park Disc Golf sign. The course has a practice basket, empty kiosk, a golf rules sign and garbage can.

The course has decent concrete tee pads. The baskets are Discatchers with the yellow band and number on the side. The baskets have this landscaped stone circle below them. It consist of 13 patio blocks placed in a circle. It looks really good and prevents the area below the basket from getting muddy or compacted. The tee signs are old school fiberglass ones. I can't believe that these have lasted as long as they have without being trashed. This seems like the kind of park that gets trashed at night.

Some of the holes have the water coming into play. It's off to the right on hole # 1. You're throwing over a small, wet area on # 3. And someone could possibly hyser into the wet area on # 5, I think.

I didn't think much of # 2 when you have to throw over the rough area and small trees. I had no clue where the basket was as I was standing on the pad ( with no sign).

# 7 is the signature hole here just because of the cool, well engineered, elevated tee pad. It even has metal steps leading up to it. The hole is just a fun little 224' with a baby hyser needed.

You need to stay below the tree branches on unite a few holes. The course loops right back to the parking lot.

The course had too much litter thrown everywhere. I don't think it's from the disc golfers. I think it's from the other slobs who hang out here.

Hole # 1 was confusing as I thought the # 3 basket was the play.

Like many parks, this one probably gets busy at peak times forcing players to wait on people or possibly skip a hole, if needbe.

This is a solid city park course. Reminds me of several thousand other similar city park courses. It has it's fun holes and it's stinker. If I lived locally, I'd definitely try to avoid peak times and play during the quiet times. It has it's charms although I wish it was a little cleaner. The litter everywhere kind of bummed me out.

I recommend looking at the map before you play, it will be easier to figure out the course if you do.

Hole 1 tees off past the playground and is a right to left shot different than what the sign shows.

Hole 2 is stupid, you need a spotter. The drive is over a grove of trees and rough. There is almost no way to know where the basket is from the tee.

Hole 3 is a good shot down with the pond on the left.

Walk on around the pond, the next tee is on the other side of the path near the bridge. Longest hole on the course with a low ceiling. Easy 3, but only the big arms could ever get the bird.

Hole 5 is a nice right to left shot with the creek on the left and a hill on the right. I threw a roller here that pinned the basket.

Hole 6 is up the hill throwing down, decent distance with a defined fairway. Good hole.

Hole 7 was hard to find, from 6 basket, turn left and walk towards the road. Tee is on top of the rock wall. It is a nice little short hole.

Hole 8 is a short hole, either bit right to left or low shot here. Big Tree blocking a natural fairway.

Hole 9 is way too short with the parking lot behind the basket and the creek on the right. There is no reason for this short hole, could have easily moved the tee back.

Now the map on this page shows alternate 9 pin placements. I did not see any markings for these, I didn't even attempt to play them.

This is what I've come to consider a typical park course. Lots of mature, trimmed up trees and mowed grass, with virtually no brush. There is a small creek in play on a couple of holes, but the larger pond is not used at all.

I really liked the concrete ring filled with mulch surrounding each basket. The ring was about 10 feet in diameter and gave a finished look to the baskets, as well as eliminating the pounded out bare ground that usually surrounds baskets.

Decent concrete tee pads were flat and had good texture. Older fiberglass tee signs have seen better days, but still indicated hole number and distance.

Good mix of open holes and holes that require shaping your drive through trees. Distances vary from 187' to 446 feet, with most of the holes in the 225 - 350' range.

Hole 2 is in a "rough" area of the park and requires a blind left-fading drive over a rough brushy area. Other than this hole all play is over mowed grass with little chance of losing a disc.

Tee signs were missing on holes 2 and 4. And the diagram on many of the signs was not really useful. For instance, the Hole 1 tee sign indicates the basket straight ahead, and there is in fact a basket in that location. But it turns out that is the basket for Hole 3. The Hole 1 basket is hidden off to the left.

This is a small, multi-use park, and the 9 holes are sort of crowded in here. I played on a weekday morning, and still had to wait on a couple of walkers and even let a lady know that she was standing next to the DG basket that I was preparing to throw to. I'm not sure that you could safely play this course on a busy weekend.

Given the constraints of a small community park, this little nine hole course is about as good as you could hope for.

This was an excellent course that I enjoyed alot. Hole 1 is about 40 yards from the parking lot. Hole 2 you shoot on from the woods. The course had great flow and a good mix of wooded and open holes. Hole 8 and 9 are on the other side of the street but it is no problem navigating. The signage and tee pads were in great condition. Also, DISCatcher baskets were a plus. They have bridges and steps to make progressing through the course a lot easier. I also love the surrounding area of the basket with the stone and the wood chips. It helps prevent erosion and looks so much nicer.

My biggest con was that it was not 18 holes. The course was great and a lot of fun. I suggest everyone should play the course. The only con I can think of is after hole 6 you have to walk up 7's fairways to throw back down again. I never like walking the fairway to throw back down it. Hole 7's tee pad is step so be careful.

Great variation on this course. To me this course plays in three parts. The first three holes give real reason to stay on the fairway with a pond that affects one and three. Two is a blind shot over some pretty big trees. The rough on two will eat a disc. Four through six are tight through trees. Seven through nine are more open and allow more aggressive shots.
The course doesn't ever feel like it is repeating. Every hole is different. The layout is pretty easy to navigate.
There is a nice open area alongside the ninth hole to practice your throws and warm up your arm. Two practice baskets are between the parking lot and the number one tee.
Concrete tees, decent upkeep, and multiple trashcans and benches are nice touches.

This is a multiple use park and sometimes the other people in the park will slow down your round.
The course is small so leave your big drivers at home.

This is a great course to start on. It's not to long but it does force some accurate throws.
The other people using the park are friendly and may ask you what you are doing.

Conder Park is a fun 9 hole course that allows you to air it out and also run tight and technical. It is located within a city park in the middle of Killeen. This brings bathrooms, playgrounds and trash cans, but also a lot of people. The course is fairly open with some trees.

1. The best aspect to Conder park is that you have a different look at each hole. There are no duplicates and each hole has multipule looks. This allows for fun line shaping and smart disc selection to come into play during your round. The course is fairly open with some trees, the pond comes into play on 3 holes and they use the water hazard well, there are 2 tunnel shots which play side by side. You will end up using alot of shots for a 9 holer here. Plan on using your putter on half the holes, but dont forget your driver on #4. A low ceiling shot that opens up into a 400fter with a creek in play.

2. Each hole has good concrete tee box's as well as good (not great) tee sign's. There are trash cans all over the park and it is well maintained by Killeen park and rec. There are on site bathrooms (port-a-potty) as well as a playground and picnic tables.

3. One of the little extras that I like about the park are the baskets, discatcher's and each one has a nice wood chiped circle around the pin.

4. The course is short, which allows for quick rounds, it is easy to get 3 rounds in the time you would typically take to throw a normal course. This does not take away from the holes themselves.

Overall a fun quick course, great for a family outing or getting in a few fast rounds.

There arent to many cons for this course, hole layout and pin placements are good, so the 3 rating really comes from the fact that you can see these 9 holes pretty much at any other course.

1. The biggest con is the location of the park. It is smack in the middle of a community park. It cross walking paths, and a road. It is a very busy park and with that comes kids, parents, ducks. Watch out for kids picking up your discs, playing on the pins, and getting in the way.

2. Park location, the park is not in the greatest part of town.

3. There is not much difficulty to this course, it is fairly easy to come out and shot 2 or 3 down here. The holes are not repeative but they are a little boring. There is not much to think about once you have chosen your line. Each hole may have 1 or 2 obsticles to watch out for, a tree, pond, playground, but after that theres not much for risk/reward. Do not play expecting a tourney caliaber course.

Overall this is a good course for the park and location. It fits well into the small park and gives the locals something to throw at. It is worth a stop if you are in the area, but not to travel from out of town for. It is quick and fun but nothing out of the ordinary.

The Killeen DG scene is quickly growing and there are almost always people playing the course in the evening. They hold Minis twice a week, an evening night that rotates, and every Saturday morning.

The park seems to have very good upkeep. The grass was mowed, the trees were trimmed, and the park was very clean. At about half of the holes, some very big, (and unforgiving) trees come into play. Given the size of the park, there is a very nice mix of shots. If you happen to live/work nearby, this would make a nice practice/lunchbreak course.

The course, even though it is only nine holes, seems to be shoehorned into this park. Also, its not exactly in the best part of Killeen.

It is a multi-use park, so watch out for bystanders!

Lots of trees provide need to master a variety of shots. Several longer par 3's challenge length as well as finesse. Plays quickly. A pair can play 18 in about 1 1/2 hours. This is great if you want to play after work.

Occasionally the rough is very rough. multi-use park does cause occasional delays for walkers, joggers,etc. The city is not taking very good care of the park so it is usually trashy. Also avoid at dusk as the local undesirables start to wander into the park.

The recent storm caused a tree on #9 to be removed. That is a shame. Eventhough I hit it with startling regularity, it really made the hole and will be missed. The city made a real attempt to reclaim this older park from druggies, vandals etc. They seem to have abandoned this effort. Still fun to play but if you have your family with you playing early in the day or afternoon is a MUST.

This is a nice, short course that is excellent for beginners. There's a variety of hazards including a pond, a creek, trees.....bystanders. Hole #2 is the only blind shot due to the small forest between the tee and the basket. A well-placed, setup drive is essential for those who don't yet have the stroke to clear the rough. Holes 4, 5 and 6 are tunnel-type shots, so throwing a good, straight shot with good elevation control is key. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the pond does tend to be a disc magnet. I've seen "disc divers" haul 20-30 discs out of the drink in an afternoon. The scenery is pretty and shaded in many places. The course is nice and compact so you can play rounds quickly when time is of the essence.

Since the course is laid out in such a tight fashion, it borders on many of the features the park has to offer. During peak times of the day, much time may be spent waiting for people to clear out so you can take a shot. The tee box for hole #1 actually points at basket #3. This can cause confusion for players unfamiliar with the course. The roughs that flank the fairway to basket #2 contain poison ivy. I've learned this by experience... on more than one occasion. The walk from basket #3 to the #4 tee box skirts around the pond and does take you through the hole #1 fairway.

I really like this course. I reckon I'm partial since it's the one closest to home. But even so, I think it's a course I wouldn't mind making the drive for.

Lots of technical shots, well maintained, decent scenery, lots of wild life, and challenging holes but nothing to difficult.

Too easy too quick too small all the holes are short and tight on top of eachother.

Over all its a surprising course cause it is fun and well mark but if you want a day of discing this course is just to fast and though it does challenge your control it has no room for any long throws.

Great for people learning the game, like myself. I enjoy playing the course very much. ---Great Starter Course-- but also good for people trying to brush up on their game. Hole 1 and 3 will make you think before throwing because of the pond, it's a disk magnet. Hole #2 is great because the basket is hidden behind brush and trees so it can't be seen from the tee box. Just makes me want to learn how to throw different shots better. Hole #4 is the only Par 4 of the course but soon found out that throwing pass the newly planted trees near the playground is out-of-bounds so time for a new plan. Hole #5 is tricky because if you dont throw it straight you're going to hit a tree or end up in the creek. Hole #6 is a tunnel of low hanging trees so control is the key to this hole. #7 seems easy enough but the road to the left of it is out of bounds so the only way of getting a birdie is going straight up the gut which isn't to easy because of the trees, that leave you little room for mistake. Hole #8 has to big trees that the branches hang so low that you have about a 3 - 4 foot game to throw to the basket if you're trying to birdie but i find this hole one of my favorites. #9 is the shortest of all of them under 200 feet. Only bad part is the basket is right next to the creek but its not really deep so no worries about losing your discs. I gave this course a nice rating because its very good for people wanting to learn the game.

Its a shame they could only do 9 holes do to the size of the park.

The park has plenty to do other then disc golf and plenty of shade from all the Oak trees that cover a big portion of the course and park. I recommend this course for anyone wanting to learn the game.

Course is new and was constructed using top of the line materials. John Houck donated some of his time to see the property and make design suggestions. The course was designed and built by the City of Killeen Staff with an eye on a quality disc golfing experence. The concrete tee boxes are nice. and the baskets are DISCatcher Pros. Course offers a variety of hole types and places an emphizes on shotmaking as opposed to power and distance. The first 3 holes are open with hazards coming into play including a pond on #1 and #3. Number 2 is a blind shot with a wooded hazard. Accurate drives on these first three holes could yield birdie opportunitues. The next three holes are in the trees and require distance and accuracy to make par. A good drive on # 4(the only par 4 on the course) sets you up for a birdie opportunity. Hole 5 is a beautiful par three along a creek and covered in trees. Par here is a good score. Hole 6 is the signature hole and was discovered by John Houck. Again. a successful drive sets you up for a good score. Hole 7 has an elevated tee and is a short par 3 with a small window to throw through. Hole 8 brings lagre 80 yr old oak trees into play and hole 9 provides an opportunity to go for an ace but there are conequences if you miss-throw. Overall a fun course stressing short game and accurate drives.

Due to the size of the park the course was designed in conjunction with other park activities. This stresses common courtesy and extra attention to safety.

Play it! Then go over to Temple and play their two courses which are competive, fun, and well kept.

This is nice tight course, with a lot of technical shots. This course is a John Houch design, and it has his fingerprints all over it. You don't need your long game, bring the best short game you have. A great place to work on your short game, consistently and control is what you need.

Only one.... the walk from 3 to 4 you have to walk along the #1 fairway.
