Good Use of Vegetation 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 16, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

Holes mostly contour around a steep hillside and make good use of shrubs and trees for some interesting shots. Signage is good, with an innovative "gun sight" atop each tee sign, lining up a bolt in a slot, to easily locate the proper hole. Holes are painted blue to match the course name (other courses on-site are Red and Green). Holes are well constructed, look like they incorporate some parts from mining equipment. Each tee has a level, solid tee pad.

Cons:

Very rocky, steep terrain makes footing difficult. Errant shots can go far downhill. There are horse droppings everywhere, ticks and foxtails (foxtails would be seasonal). Somewhat difficult to get to (and get back out of).

Other Thoughts:

The owner is very accommodating in allowing access to the site. There are stunning views of Reno a thousand-plus feet below in a broad valley. The site is in mountains at 5700 ft. altitude a few miles off the Reno to Virginia City highway mostly via graded dirt roads, but the last half mile is a very steep jeep trail with deep ruts and large sharp rocks, really requiring a high ground clearance vehicle with appropriate tires.

Super fun pitch-n-putt 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 25, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Well thought out holes, forces you to use a variety of throws and think about your shot. Great warm-up, or family course, plus the views of Reno are amazing. Cement tee pads and signs for all holes, easy to follow trails between holes, and did I mention the view?!

Cons:

Some minor maintenance needs to be done, but really minor stuff that shouldn't stop you from playing the course.

Other Thoughts:

Tom was amazingly nice, he talked me through getting there and where to leave forms, etc... Reno Adventure Park is the quintessential high desert disc golf course(s), it's a must play in Reno.

Perfect warm-up course. 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 9, 2013 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

A really fun and unique course to warm up on. I always feel like I need about 9 holes to warm up on any given day, so this course is perfect for that. I get to warm up with approach shots and putts before I play a "real" 18-hole course. Love it!
